Vote for Our Official Top 20

Always surprised to see Tepepa sitting so high at 21. Always thought that one was just ok and most of the other big Zapatas are miles better.

Just one little correction : the director of “For a book of Dollars” is Mario Bianchi not Renzo Girolami. It’s a Mistake caused by a missinterpretation of one of his pseudonyms. Girolami has nothing to do with this flick.

Yes, I prefer Il mercenario, Companeros, Giu la testa and Quien sabe?, which are all one or two steps ahead. But then, these are also all higher in the top 20. But obviously Tepepa is a steady climber in the list, the 4 films behind Tepepa are very close though, and it was only in the last days that Tepea came back to # 21.

In the uncut version Tepepa is a good film. Some flaws still there, but the positive stuff dominates.

Ahh, ok, but are you sure?

The database and the Bruckner book both feature Girolami as director. Kessler’s book also.

Is this a newer information?

the original credits named “Renzo Spaziani”. Just one pseudonym for Mario Bianchi. But the most databases makes the mistake to name Girolami.

in the hurry, I only found this information proofed on : Italo-Cinema.de

and the german DVD mentioned Bianchi as director

All sources I checked name Girolami, and if you check IMDB it seems Girolami used this Renzo Spaziani pseudonym more often for his credits as assistant director.

Well, the one miserable point for this film will be gone anyway when 1 or 2 new lists are posted, which solves the problem for the top 20 list in a charming manner …
How’s with a top 20 from you?

But it should be checked at first for the database entry.

I think the Problem is that both directors used the same pseudonym, but Girolami only as a assistant director.

Im working on my top 20 and hope to release it soon.

Great …

And this Spaziani problem needs some further research for the database.

On IMDB no Bianchi credits are linked with that pseudonym, only Girolami.

Bruckner credits the film to Girolami, but in the pseudonym section of his book it is an alias for Bianchi.

difficult to clear this question. but maybe we will find another hint.

I got it ! Bianchi should be the director but in the end Girolami take over.

This interview with Bianchi shines a little light on it.

That makes sense.

I’m more puzzled by the fact that someone actually voted for that piece of crap
Anyway, all this could be transfered to it’s own topic.
