Howdy, fellow spaghetti western fans. Iā€™ve always loved spaghetti westerns from a young age and always enjoy watching them from the Leone and Sergio Corbucci ones to the more niche ones. Nothing more I like than discovering a new spaghetti western. Looking forward to the BluRays of The Hills Run Red and Man of the East in February from Kino. I would say Kill Them All And Come Back Alone and both the Eureka and Kino BluRays of The Specialists were my favorite discoveries of 2020. Will close by wishing that someone will finally bring an English friendly BluRay of Minnesota Clay as only the unfriendly French BluRay exists to my knowledge.

Hello all. I am new to the forum as of several days ago. I am a 56 year old man from California.

Around 6 months ago, it became obvious under the Covid-19 landscape that I would be watching a lot of TV. I decided I should organize my watching and took on a little project - watching the top 100 Westerns of all time. I collated a list of top Westerns from a handful of online top 100 lists ā€“ because of lack of overlap, the list stretches to 252 films (Cowboys & Indians (2016), Slant (March 2020), Paste (2016), American Cowboys (2017), and I recently added Slacker (Nov 2020)).

Over the past several months, I have seen 60 Westerns ā€“ 47 on the collated list (including 29 of the 41 films that are listed on at least 4 of the 5 source lists), along with another 13 Westerns not on the list. Other than my DirecTV subscription, I have not had to pay for a single one - TCM featuring John Fordā€™s films in July certainly helped.

Until recently, I had not seen any Spaghetti Westerns as part of that, but I recently discovered the Movieland TV channel on Roku which has a fair number including many of the universally accepted cream of the crop. I knew I loved Clint Eastwood Westerns, having seen all three of Sergio Leoneā€™s Dollars trilogy many years ago. I have now rewatched them all, and loved them ā€¦ but the eye-openers have been Once Upon a Time in the West and Duck You Sucker, both of which are so fantastic and entertaining even without Clint. Now I have a taste for SWs, and I am hungry for more! I plan to dig into the entire genre as a sidebar of my project!

On my ā€œsoon to watchā€ list are Django, Death Rides a Horse, A Bullet for the General, My Name is Nobody, Companeros, They Call Me Trinity, God Forgives ā€¦ I Donā€™t, Navajo Joe, Tepepa and Dead For a Dollar, all of which are on either Movieland TV, Amazon Prime or the Roku Channel.

Anyway, I thought I would introduce myself here - unfortunately, my wife does not share my enthusiasm for Westerns, so I welcome any chat about Westerns in general or SWs I have watched. I am keeping a spreadsheet with my ratings and notes as I go.
