I am really interested in this list. VERY different. A good thing BTW.
Glad you found it interesting, i’m sure it will be changing as i see more SW’s. It’s not that often that i come across a SW where i can’t find something to like in it. But these are my favorites for now out of the 50 i’ve seen.
But what exactly makes OUATITW so great and so above all other Italian westerns?
Those who like it never explain why, only that it is a great movie, period
I’m assuming that with all the titles on the list, most likely they do, but if we include titles past number 20 (top 30, top 50, etc.) do these earn points as well? I don’t remember seeing anything about that reading through the pages
20 (top 30, top 50, etc.) do these earn points as well? I don’t remember seeing anything about that reading through the pages
I think first 20 are counted only, longer lists are made just for fun.
That’s pretty impressive then, that 143 different titles come up in different people’s top 20
Very good work, still have a few to see on the list
I think some of the list are a bit strange…
My question is:
Why do people tend to leave the Leones out of the list?
Everyone says “Yes, they’re great”, so why don’t you put it on the list?
OK, it’s nice to see some “others” on lists, but nevertheless: When the Leones are the best ones for you, then put it on the top of your lists, and not somewhere above or something like that.
Some members simply prefer other Spagies to the Leone output.
It’s still amazing how they dominate the voting. Just compare the given points for Sergio L with the SWs on # 30 or # 50.
That’s ok, I prefer GS to all the Leones, no problem.
But what I mean are members who actually say, the Leones are top, but don’t vote for them. That’s what I don’t get.
We always wanted to make a second voting, which would use top 40 or even top 50 lists. And only from members who have seen quite a lot Spagies. Mainly to see how the SWs in the lower ranks will do.
This 2nd voting wasn’t intended to replace the current forum’s top 20.
Apparently we haven’t done it yet.

Actually I can’t remember anyone who said so. Maybe there are one or two, but I’m not sure.
Fact is only a few lists don’t have most of the Leone’s in their top 10.
Maybe you’re right, but I had in mind that several folks stated something like that. The last one was spaghetti monkey I guess.

I think this was just your idea Stanton
I think a new top 30, or maybe top 40, to replace the current top 20 would be interesting
And everybody should vote for this, not only those who have seen over 200 SWs or whatever
Besides, it matters what versions you have seen, if you’ve seen many fullscreen versions with bad German dubbing, then it doesn’t always do justice to the films
You need to see many of these films in a decent print, with correct aspect ratio, to fully judge them I think
No, Spaghetti Monkey has the dollar trilogy at the top and for me they are #1-3. Then he names 20 more films, which are for the voting #4 to 23. So for me and the last 3 of them don’t get points.
Which is also not correct as I ignored A Town Called Hell for not being a SW so that # 18 (=#21) still got 1 point.
Got it? It ain’t easy.
You know, the calculating is a highly demanding and exhausting job, which can’t be done properly without at least a high school diploma in mathematics.
Ha ha yes, maybe my idea. (The wish is the father of the thoughts)

These are some of the reasons why I would prefer only lists from people with 200 or more films. These 200 guys are also always seeking for better versions.
But a top 40 from someone who has seen only 60 SWs is not very interesting. Not to mention those who have only seen 30. ![]()
Even 100 is not impressive as there are too many good films which are still missing. And it’s exactly these “missing Spags” we (I?) want to compare.
Well, still my thoughts.

So I got him wrong. Shame on me…
