Lowest ranking from my top 10 is El puro at # 34
Lowest from the top 20 are on # 106 and # 110

So maybe our two similar examples might be statistically whithin what you could expect when each contributor only lists a Top 20. But surely there should also be several Top 20 lists that contain no SWs with ranking below say 50th - 70th place !?
Obviously there is a broad spectrum of SWs below the Leone first four SWs to choose from, implying the rankings far below the official Top 20 list are probably less reliable regarding valuating preferenses compared to a list based on each contributor’s Top 40 for example - as already discussed before though ![]()
Yes, several lists are inside the top 50 exclusively, or are made mainly of top 20 films. Problem is also that there are still lists from people who have watched only the smaller amount of all Spags.
But I wouldn’t expect too much differences in top 40 or top 50 lists, because the top 20 films would also get more votes.
The alternative top 20 is also meanwhile not too far away from the ranks 20 to 40, and if Phil had given points for the ranking and not only for the naming of a film, it might be identical.
I think the list is accurate at least for the first 50 or 70. And becomes really arbitrary only after # 100.
OK, then, after 25 years of intensive SW watching, here’s my actual take on the top 25:
The Good, the Bad, the Ugly 11/10

“The Mercenary 10,5” It was a 5/10 after my two Youtube experiences (except for the music) and “Duck, You Sucker! 8” 4 or 5/10 but I might watch them again before I die and possibly at least not down-rate them further ![]()
Regarding the music Dead Men RIDE 12/10, Requiem For A Gringo and Kill The Wicked! 11/10 !
Just supernatural…
Why don’t just ignore the political parts and enjoy the western stuff?
Shouldn’t be much of a problem for The Mercenary, then you have a perfect companion to FaFDM and GBU, only much faster told.
Maybe, but also those whiskers of the former original Django irritate me ![]()
But Duck, You Sucker! i disliked too much anyhow, but should revisit sometime to give them a last try or both of them…
So if Franco Nero was clean shaven, The Mercenary would be a 7/10?
p → q does not nessecarily imply ¬p → ¬q, but it indeed that SW would be more tolerable without those whiskers - and if you skipped the zapata theme !
However, these whiskers I do like :

Hello - new member of the forum here.
My uncle got me into SWs when I was a teenager. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago so I will dedicate my Top 20 in his memory.
I’ve seen around 50 SWs now, including all of the top 35 on the essential list.
So here is my contribution:-

Duel in the Eclipse / Requiem for a Gringo 8, agree !
Django, Prepare a Coffin 4,5, no rather an 8 and more entertaining than the original Django with the slightly wooden Nero IMO ![]()
Yeah, but Nero is made of charismatic wood …
Prepare a Coffin has a few good scenes, but also a lot of weak ones, it’s a very uneven film. And Hill’s Django feels too light, in fact he gave a much better Django impersonation in all 3 Colizzi Spags, there he looks as grim as he should do in the Baldi film.
Apart from that Corbucci’s original is so much better directed.
My latest update seems not be included, but I have forgotten the last version. Here is my current Top 20 :
