Vote for Our Official Top 20

Some actual stats:

The post before was the 3.000th in this thread. The voting started nearly 15 years ago, and since then over 200 lists were submitted, of which actually 186 are still counting. Some older lists were taken out by me, but so far only incomplete lists from ex-members, who had their account deleted.

The chief aim to get a stable top 20, which reflects directly the taste of the SW community, was pretty quick accomplished, and meanwhile, by such an amount of lists, the next 30 - 40 spags are also more or less sure.
Yankee at # 59 is the first one with less than 10 votes, but at least 3 films are in the top 100 with only 3 votes, the highest being Robert hossein’s extraordinary The Taste of Violence at # 81.
Outside the top 100 there are 4 Spags with 5 - 7 votes, and at the moment overall 212 films were named at least once.

The next update will be published in Jan 2021, and then the 15 years are reached.

Spose I’ll get in on the action here. Nice to be around likeminded folks … even if I don’t know who the hell you are! I’d like to offer up some different selections, though, the truth is, if we’re talking about the best of the best, it’s likely that what I hold in that regard will be nothing new. Regardless, here it goes:

  1. Once Upon a Time in the West
  2. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
  3. The Mercenary
  4. My Name is Nobody
  5. Companeros
  6. For a Few Dollars More
  7. A Fistful of Dollars
  8. A Bullet For the General
  9. The Great Silence
  10. Django
  11. A Fistful of Dynamite
  12. Face to Face
  13. A Pistol For Ringo
  14. The Return of Ringo
  15. Day of Anger
  16. God Forgives … I Don’t!
  17. Keoma
  18. Death Rides a Horse
  19. Run, Man, Run
  20. Today We Kill … Tomorrow We Die!

Never easy. Cheers, guys. Glad to be here.

Hah, ok, but mow let me be curious, I Am Sartana, Your Angel of Death was on # 9 (or 10) on your previous list, but why it is now completely out of your Top 20?
Logically it should still be close to If You Meet Sartana…Pray for Your Death …

When is Sartana going to kick Corri Uomo Corri out the top 20?

When I started considering my Alternative Top 20, I realized I wanted I Am Sartana, Your Angel of Death as my #1 on that list, and I wanted to try to see if I could keep the Official Top 20 list to one film per franchise apiece (I don’t see the two Ringo films as related in anyway btw)

Ok, but we shouldn’t do any limitations in the kind of “one film per director” or “per actor”, just the 20 films you like the most.

Also (now I’m speaking not directly to you, but to every voter including myself) one should avoid to think that “a certain film has already enough points, I chose instead one of my lesser darlings, even if the one with enough points is the one I prefer”. Also not " there has to be one film from a certain direcor or (or actor or whoever)" on my list. If e.g you like all films with Anthony Steffen more than any other Spags, well than make a list which includes all Steffen films. The lists need not to be balanced (and not sane), and there are no Spags a list must have, and no Spags a list should not have.

Just be as honest to yourself as possible, and name the 20 films which are the most fun to watch, the ones which make the biggest impression.

Actually at the moment If You Meet Sartana Pray for Your Death is indeed 3 points ahead of Run Man Run. It seems Milian is running out of steam …

This should be international news.

I Don’t hate If You Meet Sartana Pray for Your Death, not at all, I just hoped Run Man Run could hold on in there. Oh well…

He he, good idea, I organise a press-conference …

Will you be updating the Official Top 20 soon @stanton?
Just asking as any change in the make up of the Top 20 will obviously impact the Alt Top 20
