The first one to post on this topic was Jonah Hex. His list included a top 12 and he suggested others do the same. He did mention a top 20, but only in the context of the final list. Eventually, people just started posting their top 20 favorites (and with so many great movies to choose from, who can blame them?). My scoring formula (which can be seen just above the top 20 list) is based on Jonah Hex’s original post and an amalgamation of suggestions from other posts. With said formula, even if we scored the top 50 films from each person the final 20 would still be the same (although a great deal more would obviously be represented in the honorary mentions category). I’m pretty sure it’s accurate, but of course I’m not perfect, and if I did snub your Blindman entry or screw up anywhere else, I assure you it was completely unintentional and I apologize profusely.
Over the summer I had a lot of free time, so I took it upon myself to calculate the votes. It sounds like you’ve got some great ideas for scoring, though, and I would be more than happy to pass on my self-appointed torch as “List Calculator,” if you’d be interested in carrying it on (sometimes I feel like that old knight at the end of the third Indiana Jones movie). If so, just let me know, Stanton (or anyone else interested in the job). Otherwise, I’ll see you guys every 5 to 10 lists!
PS - Your English is fine. I’m the one who should be apologizing; I’ve seen a lot of you guys posting in two different languages. (And I’ll tell you one thing, even though I can’t understand it, Run Lola Run sounds a lot cooler in German, than the crappy English dub ;))
Yeah, Run Lola Run is a great film, one of the great films of the last decade. And Tom Tykwer is a great Director, he has made 2 more masterpieces.
I hope that he hasn’t lost his touch with all the money he got for his new film.

It took me ages to think of this but to be honest the top 10 is the only definitive list of mine, 11-20 i found harder and they could change in the near future.
I’m trying to re-calculate votes and noticed a few lists from people who have already posted. No problem, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if it’s a revised list. Otherwise, we’re not going to get very accurate results.
