NEW seems to be working on a new website. all three of these companies look rather shady to me, relics of the old video-store world, able to somehow hold on to the rights to these movies, remastering their old tapes etc… personally, I think it’s time for these companies to pack up, sell their rights to Koch Media and get the fuck out of the business :wink:

New Entertainment is releasing One Silver Dollar and Adios Gringo which should be out within a month. Both with the English dub.

If it meant that everytime X-rated or New or whoever was supposed to release a spaghetti Koch Media performed their magic instead, great I would agree, but we know that isn’t so, Koch Media wouldn’t begin releasing more than they do now, it would just mean that more stuff would never be released.

X-Rated etc. do also release a lot of other stuff, stuff that Koch Media would never release in a million years, so to wish them dead, those genre releasing companies, sounds kinda strange to me.

I know what you mean and the Quality of the Koch Media Releases is outstanding but as Consumer I’m against a SW monopoly and any kind of monopoly. The prices will go up and the quality down. Of course I would be happier if Koch Media would release all SW DVD’s but you never know. :wink:

Koch do a magnificent job but the X rated and NEW releases I have are also very good and, what’s more, they all have english audio. Something the Koch ones generally don’t. Personally, I’d hate to see them go and agree that the more the merrier is a good motto in this field. I just wish the other companies would match Koch on the price front.

well koch dvds are lower than those of xrated (enormously hard to get) and NEW (equally hard to get), and neither of their releases are very good in terms of quality…

i’m just saying i’d rather see koch media buy their catalogs so that we know we’ll get these films, no matter how crappy they might be, as good releases soon. not all koch’s SW releases are also good movies…

Some of X-Rated’s SW releases have also been excellent, and even if Koch Media does an outstanding job and the Rainbow series is really cool, we can’t rely on just one company

Getting the rights to some films, then hiring a lab to do the transfering to DVD, and finally distributing via this website, awesome :smiley:

But we probably don’t have the time or experience for this

one of the next steps of the SWDB will probably be (but that’s still some time away) to partner up with certain companies, maybe sponsorship or discounts etc… But I want to move the SWDB forward a bit more before I think about that. We’re still about a year away from the quality I’d say is necessary to step that far into the limelight, and I also want to give the look/layout of the SWDB a little polish before I do something like that.
