The Last Western You Watched?

The Hellbenders - Good but not Corbucci’s best. It is enjoyable though ;D

“McClintock!”
-John Wayne

One of The Duke’s most entertaining movies.

“Big Jake”

Another classic Wayne adventure

May 26th is John Wayne’s 100th Birthday. So saddle up and enjoy some classic westerns

Me and the kids have a Wayne-a-thon planned for today in tribute to the big man.

an episode ofHave Gun Will Travel on dvd. Great show Richard Boone at his best.

watched Wyatt Earp tonight, i thought it was ok but the first hour was a bit of a drag.

My John Wayne 100th Birthday celebration continues with:

“War Of The Wildcats”
“Chisum”
“The War Wagon”
“Randy Rides Alone”

and Wayne’s greatest movie

“The Searchers”

Watched Reverend Colt last night… Don’t know what the hell they were thinking… The music was just fine but the rest was a mess. Starring both Guy Madison and Richard Harrison didn’t help it a bit… Disappointed.

Me and the kids restricted ourselves to some of the Duke’s work with Howard Hawks.

Rio Bravo
Red River
El Dorado

The first two of which are absolute classics. A day well spent.

She wore a yellow ribbon and purgatory

Is Purgatory the one with Eric Roberts in it? i’ve never seen it but heard it is quite good, is it worth a watch?

I am half way through HBO’s new “Bury my heart at Wounded Knee”. not bad the thing

Looks interesting

it gets a good vote on the imdb (8.2)

Just watched Sono Sartana, il Vostro Becchino (I am Sartana, Your Angel of Death) for the first time in some years. I read the thread from last year on this movie and opinion seems to be pretty split amongst this forum so I thought I’d see if I still thought the same about it.

For my money I still love this film. Great cast, great theme tune and enough gadgets and trickery to make it an ideal Sartana flick. Not so serious but not a comedy either which is the way Sartana movies should be I think. Kind of James Bondish maybe.

Anyhow, with Garko, Kinski and Wolff in it how can you not like it?

My John Wayne 100th Birthday celebration continues with:

“Cahill: Untied States Marshall”
“The Star Packer”
“Riders Of Destiny”
“In Old California”

“The Violent Men” (1955)
-Glenn Ford, Barbara Stanwyck, Edward G Robinson, Brian Kieth

A Union ex-officer plans to sell up to Anchor Ranch and move east with his fiancee, but the low price offered by Anchor’s crippled owner and the outfit’s bully-boy tactics make him think again. When one of his hands is murdered he decides to stay and fight, utilising his war experience. Not all is well at Anchor with the owner’s wife carrying on with his brother who anyway has a Mexican moll in town.

Good Action, Great Cast, and a well told story. Very entertaining.

Hadn’t watched Massacre Time for a few years so i stuck it on this afternoon, i think it is the most enjoyable of Fulci’s three westerns (Not counting the White Fang’s)

I agree!
It has that something extra kind of quality about it.
Did you watch your Laserdisc of the film?
