Didn’t like training day, the ideia is good, but it didn’t deliver for me, Ethan Hawke character spoils the all thing.
Replacement Killers was very good, and I also liked Tears of the sun, old school film. Bait and the shooter his worst efforts for me
Don’t Open Till Christmas.
Well nearly that time of year so time for a psycho santa film. Not the best one in the genre I have seen, could not get used to the U.K setting for this type of film. Nice to see Edmund Purdom though who adds a spot of class, and he also directs.

BAIT - This wasn’t that good I’m afraid. Plotwise the film is an absurdity but you can’t really blame Fuqua for that. Instead of sympathizing with the main character I found him rather annoying and thought that he deserved what he was getting on several occasions. Same shit goes for this brother. The film also had a comedic tone that I wasn’t expecting and disappointed me. Still, it’s not really bad, just not what I was hoping for.
Jurassic Park -
well, i can’t even review this movie because even after so many years i remember it precisely scene by scene - and my judgment is completely compromised

what is surprising for me are stunning visual effects - i get used to the fact that when i revisit some old movie the visuals aged and looks, if not ridiculous, then at least dubious or unreliable - Jurassic Park is not the case, i think i didn’t spot any visual prang and it’s 1993, so hats off
by the way, scherp, what stupid jokes did you mean? sneezing brachiosaurus or snorting Dennis “Nerdy” Nedry? 
of course it’s not my most favorite movie anymore, can’t say it’s even among my favorites, but folks, i was prehistory expert back in those days and i just loved this flick
btw, velociraptors are not that big as they are in the movie - i’d breed rather Deinonychus, very similar dinosaur, but bigger
@ tomas | Yes, the sneezing brachio and Nerdy Nennis are good examples of this silliness; I also think of this guy who hides in the toilet and is eaten by the T. Rex with the toilet and all. The sentimentality concerns most everything with Richard Attenborough.
I still like the film for the reasons you mentioned, plus for Jeff Goldblum

Jurassic Park Lost World aka Dino in San Diego
yap, T-rex got into big city - i was afraid of this scene and rightly - although with all those injokes as dog-eating, or posters with Arnie starring in King Lear it’s at least endurable
anyway, i didn’t enjoy this film at all, actually only scene i liked was near the end with Goldblum and his companions fighting raptors
until this it all looked like not very inspired and unnecessarily lengthy - we actually got all what was in first movie but doublepacked
scenes with T-rexes seemed to me as quite boring and whole clowning on a ropes inside trucks hanging from a cliff overlong - i wished the scene was finally over
i had same feelings with other scenes as well - compsognathuses killing Stormare, T-rexes terrorizing the camp …
Goldblum and Pete Posthlewaite were great though and dinos even didn’t kill Pete
Jurassic Park III (ain’t that cool - scratch across that three like in the movie )
i liked this one - finally Sam Neill is back and T-rex is not the main bad dino anymore, we have spinosaurus instead and this dino looks pretty cool
also raptors got slightly new look - their skin-colour is more diverse and some of them have even feathers - great
various chase/survival/fight scenes have much better dynamics than in previous entry and are also more scary - i love the scene when pterodactyl came out of a fog
i also liked how they emphasize that velociraptors are far more intelligent than they assumed
another plus is we get into the action in some 20 min., in JP1 and JP2, it took almost an hour
my favorite part of the trilogy
SIN (2004) - Gary Oldman abducts and rapes the sister of Ving Rhames, a crippled ex-cop, for a ‘sin’ he had committed in the past. Both want revenge now… Rather typical vigilante flick, without many surprises. Even Oldman looks a bit bored. Nothing to die for overall.
Southern Comfort - Lost count how many times I’ve seen this now, definitely one of my favourite Walter Hill films. The Blu Ray looks really nice too.
Father Came Too! - Haven’t seen this since I was a kid. Stanley Baxter and his wife are doing up their first home but her meddling father (James Robertson Justice) won’t leave them be and thinks he knows best. Easy and enjoyable viewing.
DETROIT 9000 91973) Not bad cops and robbers 70’s action film, with funky music. It could have been better, but it’s ok for a watch.

Film from Thailand, based on historic events.
In the 18th century, the Birmese army invades the country. The local population, most of them farmers, is not able to defend itself, but survivors of the various massacres, assemble in the village of Bang Rajan. Armed with only knives, axes and small swords, they start a guerilla and manage to frustrate the Birmese enemy for more than five months (according to the legend).
The film takes some time to get going, but once it does it’s a fascinating period war movie, violent and engrossing.

Never understood why this movie got such a lukewarm reception. It’s not perfect, it’s not believable, but hey, this is a horror movie and it’s well-made, atmospheric and often genuinely frightening. Afraid of dragons? You’ll probably be after watching this movie.
Best thing about it is an almost unregonizable Matthew Mcconaughey as an unwashed, unshaved, cigar-chewing dragon killer, brrrrrrr.
Worst thing is the sub-par dialogue

TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY - Unfortunately I got very confused at a relatively early point of the film. Who is who, who did what, codenames, flashbacks etc. - honestly, it all gave me a real headache at the end. Wasted potential here for me. Too bad because IMO it has one of the greatest performances of Gary Oldman and one of the best of the last 10+ years.

i quite like this one too, good postapocalyptic adventure with kinda original setting - dragons in a wasteland is not your usual PA premise - refreshing between all those zombie PA survival flicks
contains some cool scenes also - i think it was McConaughey jumping from top of something towards a flying dragon
Second viewing makes it much better, I understood everything. At the first time, it left me a bit confused, but I enjoyed it anyway.
