Lunch Hour - Interesting little film about a couple who canât get any privacy canoodling in their work lunch hour so the boyfriend rents a hotel room for an hour, but the girlfriend is less than impressed when she finds out about the pack of lies he told the landlady in order to take the room and gets too heavily involved in the yarn heâs spun. The black and white transfer on the BFI Blu Ray looks absolutely stunning.
As usual with these BFI discs there are some interesting shorts as extras, this one includes three films made for BP. One of them called âGiuseppinaâ is about the daily goings on and the different customers that visit a small petrol garage in rural Italy. Of interest to Spaghetti Western fans the proprietor of the garage is played by Giulio Marchetti who was the sheriff in âStranger In Sacramentoâ.

The House On Greenapple Road, 1970⌠yawn, avoid it. Thereâs nothing going-on here. If they included nudity and conversational crassness, this mightâve been Janet Leighâs signature film-achievement. But it was basically a poor manâs Jack Webb-ian rip of a Los Angeles (where else?) murder-investigation. Co-starring Chris George and Keenan Wynn as police-detectives, chatterboxing one-dimensionally.
Assault On The Wayne, 1971⌠Nice little submarine-espionage film that doesnât stray from its suspense. -Starring Leonard Nimoy as the subâs commander on a secret mission testing the validity of seagoing ICBM tracking-equipment, slowly becoming aware of spies on-board. One of them is the boatâs doctor, stealthily drugging Nimoy as he attempts to solve whatâs happening. An unpretentious, fast-moving film.
Police Python 357 ( 1976 ).
A cop is involved with a young woman and she dies, and all evidence points to him. Bit more of a twist to the film, but that would be giving to much away. Clever film in alot of ways, even though there are glitches in the storyline. And the cop played by Yves Montand is great who you guessed does like his guns as witnessed many times in the film, and his jacket is very similar to the one worn by Eastwood in Dirty Harry.

A group of mountaineers are having the time of their life in the Scottish Highlands, but when they make a walk in a wood, they find a little girl, trapped in a small underground chamber. The girl speaks Serbian and was most probably kidnapped; they set her free and try to bring her to safety, but soon the kidnappers are on their trail. Thatâs not the end of the story: the girlâs father is a war criminal and has a couple of surprises for the kidnappers.
An enjoyable, nasty little thriller of the cat-and-mouse type. Tells its story by fits and starts, and it may also feel a little artificial in presenting its twists and turns, but it delivers the thrills, the cinematography of the Highlands is breathtaking, and we get some of the most convincing tumbling scenes in recent memory. What makes it really worth watching though, is the suspenseful, ultra-violent finale, set in a small Scottish town during a festival. Melissa George is a good heroin, but Sean Harris and Stephen McCole steal the show as two of the most ruthless kidnappers in film history (and they do meet their match).

And does it have English sub or dub?
I had a Japanese tape before but it was in French so I didnât watch it properly.
Hollywood Man - William Smith plays the role of an actor/director/producer who hasnât got enough funds to complete his new film. He accepts a loan from the mob but only if he can finish it in a set amount of time or lose the rights to other films he owns and his large Hollywood home. Of course the mob do all I can to make sure the picture isnât completed in time. Quite enjoyed it, worth a watch. Does anybody know if there is a DVD or tape out there in the correct ratio as the tape I saw is full screen and occasionally goes scope for some shots here and there.

This sums things up for me. Was not expecting a few things that happened, epecially when some of the climbers fall.

Right, not a great film per se, but it works.
I liked the scene where Melissa George worked somebody out of the window. Literally.

Never a real fan of whatâs called Eurospy genre, a term itself a contradiction Spying is a universal activity.
Anyway weak film, only worth watching for the cool soundtrack with some folk songs, and the photography with the background filmed in a glorious way.
The main actor looked a bit gay well for a tough guy and to hell with political correctness. The director an experimented one (he wrote some nice scripts), made a few scenes well, and its cool to believe hippie girls wondered all around Spain during Francoâs regime, I still remember when I saw the first girl in topless in some beach in the south, a foreign girl. But the rest is pure cinematographic nonsense,
These films do have a very positive side; they remind us of the good things of live, traveling, nice places to visit, cool convertible cars and nice looking girls, pitty about the rest
