Not viewed this UK spy thriller in ages. Michael Caine stars and returns as the sharp spy who does not miss a trick. Forgot what a good actor Caine was even in the 60’s. An enjoyable tale.
I love that installment… primarily for Oskar Homolka’s brilliance as the KGB svengali.
plus it contains the classic line… when Caine is introduced as being from England, to a slightly intoxicated seductress:
" Mmmm, I like England… " " And England likes you. "
“Paranormal Activity 2” i quite liked the first film but this “Prequel” is completly unneccessacery and quite frankly a waste of time, and was obviously just made to cash in on the first film’s success. boring as hell. 4/10
I watched Beneath The Planet Of The Apes last night and wow, what a waste of time. Even the cameo scenes with Charleton Heston don’t save it. If the rest of the sequels are like this I’ll avoid them altogether. I realized that what made the original so good was Heston’s performance and his great one-liners.
Totally agree. Have you see the trailer for the “prequel”? I used to have certain hopes for it, not much anymore.
didn’t know such a movie is coming out. ??? The trailer makes it look almost like new Psycho, same film with new actors. Even Morricone’s music to original is used (at least in the trailer). I don’t really understand the remake craze, I’d like to see more old stuff back in the theaters not some uninspired remakes.
Hopefully it’s mostly the trailer, but yeah, it looks so similar it makes you wonder if calling it a prequel isn’t just a trick to lure fan of Carpenter’s film who would have been turned off if it was a direct remake. I remain a tiny bit hopeful, though.
haha, true but at least remakes in 80’s very quite different compared to originals.
And the remake is better for once, it’s actually my favourite Carpenter film.
I thought the film got better towards the end. I liked the last 20 min and the way the film ended. Some of the action in the middle of the film began to bore me, and the main characters remained flat.
But I’m also not a great fan of T 2 which is a 6 or maybe 7/10 film. Ahh, more likely a 6
And I wasn’t thrilled too much by the first, which was fun to watch. Time for a re-watch. Maybe I it’s great today.
I have only seen it once and actually snuck into the cinema to see it. I hated it and remember being extremely glad I didn’t pay to watch it. The first two movies were great, though.

That would be awesome… Just re-release older movies and see how many people go. I’ll bet It’d work for quite a few movies. Although knowing Hollywood, they’d probably try to make them 3D >:( Just watched one of the very few recently released Hollywood movies that I actually like: Inglorious Basterds… I think they’re remaking The Thing AGAIN btw… Oh I see, its just the prequel

The first one was a good thriller: the idea of travelling back in time in order to change the course of history was used to good effect, and Arnie was a great mean, lean terminator. Then, in the second movie, they made the mistake to turn him into a good one. It’s like turning Tuco into his brother, the priest. That wouldn’t work either.
