I watched an extended fan cut recently, which was fun, but a little too long for me … just vaguely remember Savino with a gang of bikers ? Don’t remember seeing these scenes in the earlier version.

What kind of ‘desperate-for-any-quote’ movie-critic quote is this? Vince Canby says:
“Rollercoaster is a suspense melodrama of the sort that Alfred Hitchcock does best.”
Vince Canby sounds like he thinks Rollercoaster would have been better directed by Hitchcock instead of James Goldstone.

It’s a strange backhanded compliment … even stranger to use it on the poster.
Haven’t watched it for a while, but I wasn’t reminded particularly of Hitchcock.
