That’s it, El Topo. I was trying to think of a movie with an obscure cameo role.
Actually I’ve seen the film in TV a few times, kind of a guilty pleasure, with several actors that I was used to see in TV series.
Let’s try this one
‘Seven Thieves’ (1960)
Right on spot Aldo
Cheers mate, up to you
My sense is Monte Walsh…
Correct ! over to you, Massimo ![]()
Definitely a one-take director. On a commentary for one of his movies, he said that if they made a mistake when filming a shot, he’d ask the crew something along the lines of, “do you think anyone in the audience will ask for their money back if we leave this in?”. If the answer was “No”, they’d move on to the next shot.
Sounds like Roger Corman ?
This director was even more schlock and shoestring budget.
.
Sounds like my kind of guy, but I don’t recognize it
The director was considered the pioneer of this sub-genre.
Sounds Like John Waters
Maybe Hairspray
Two Thousand Maniacs! ?
It sure is! You’re up, Autephex.
For anyone unfamiliar, director Herschell Gordon Lewis went from making nudist films to explicit gore-filled “splatter” horror films in the early 60s. He is dubbed “The Godfather of Gore”.
It did sound like John Waters, but I’ve got most of his films committed to memory so knew it wasn’t one of his…
I’ve actually never seen 2000 Maniacs, but when I read your description I instantly thought of Herschell Gordon Lewis & your screenshots gave it away with the confederate flags. I need to make a point to view more of his films. The only one I’ve seen was Blood Feast and I didn’t think much of it, so never got around to any others.
A recognizable face and key role in this shot:
I believe I know this one but I don’t want to give it away if I’m right. He was like a fed up hard working guy?
The guy in the shot, yes
Looks like Peter Boyle, is it Joe?
