Spaghetti Western Posters
I’m pretty sure the Swedish and Finnish posters more or less just used the ‘standard’ artwork
I have some Finnish posters which are very dreary, for example here’s Vengeance Trail:

I like the Finnish title though. Ammu ensin -enkelit maksakoot!=Shoot First! -Angels shall pay!

Well, if you speak Finnish, what does the Finnish title mean on the poster of ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST

It’s one looooongwooooord

(I think you posted the poster, it’s on page 1 or 2)

Interesting that a title of the light was selected in Finland whereas Drei Amen für den Satan was selected in Germany

Aha !
I guess huuliharppu = harmonica, and kostaja = avenger
The second title on the poster is, probably, the swedish title, meaning the same

I knew there was a finnish speaking minority in Sweden and recently I saw a movie (let me try again:) Som om jag inte fanns, about a young girl who had always spoken finnish with her deceased father and wasn’t allowed to speak that language in school

The film was set in the past, so probably wasn’t commenting on the actual situation in Sweden
(Anyway, it was a very nice, little film)

Do you belong to that minority or did you learn finnish as a foreign language?
It seems quite hard to learn to me; I know it belongs to the same language group as Hungarian, and that language is known as one of the most difficult ones in the world

Danish poster for Sette magnifiche pistole aka Seven Guns for Timothy

Ahh, this is one I would like to see.

You and me both. A great cast !

And I like the two other westerns made by the director.

What are those then Stanton?
Weisser has this down as dir. by Rod Gilbert … and then has no mention of him in the directors index ???

Ohh, sorry,
that’s Romolo Guerrieri (alias Girolami) who made Johnny Yuma and 10 000 Dollars for a Massacre.

He was a talented western director and should have made more Spags.

Yeah - 2 goodies … $10,000 is in my Top 20.
Thanks

Rev, you should get the german Bruckner book.

The last 300 pages (of 738) are very useful, even if you don’t speak a word german.

All Spags and all Euro westerns listed alpabetically with their original titles. And all the english titles are also mentioned (next to the german, french, spanish ones).

One index with every director and all their films, and 4 more for actors, screenwriters, photographers and composers.

I should do, you’re right. I’ll look out for it … cheers.

I have quite a few posters - in frames and in storage but I will post them soon. My favorites are the Spanish 1-sheet of I Am Sartana Your Angel of Death (same as the one in the database here), a small Django and a very large (3’x5’) Death Rides A Horse which I have yet to frame.

Danish Bandidos poster:

Nice !..like that one :).

OK, another Danish poster, this time from Boot Hill aka La collina degli stivali

The tagline on the left of the poster translates to: “A great western where no one dies of natural causes”

Looks a bit like the faces have been coloured in, but then again I am a bit colour blind…

Wow! I like it. Looks like a woodcut.
