Spaghetti Western Posters

Super posters AvatarDK  ā€¦do you have many in your collection?

I collect only original Danish posters and I so far have forty-something of the spaghetti western kind. But itā€™s constantly growing  Just need to be photographing the rest of the ones Iā€™ve got, its hard to find the time. If I manage Iā€™ll throw in another poster this evening.

Danish poster for Dirty Outlaws aka El desperado

These danish posters are so cool! So distinct looking.

Yes most of them are in fact drawn by a guy name Kurt Wenzel who did a lot of the Danish posters in the 60ā€™s/70ā€™s ā€¦ Not only spaghetti westerns but also gialli etc. And yes they are cool ;D

MORE Danish posters means MORE Forum Popularity for AvatarDK.

Keep up the good work

Are these posters expensive?

They look like they are in great condition

Some are in great unfolded condition and some are folded and have tears etc. so not all perfect. The prices for the ones Iā€™ve got goes from about 50-200 Danish kroner ($10-$40) a piece. The more popular ones where more people are interested such as posters from the Leone-movies, the original Django etc. will probably warrant up to ten times that amount.

Not all Danish posters are as nice as the ones Iā€™ve posted. Some have got the ā€˜standardā€™ poster art and some ARE drawn but are just plain uglyā€¦ Will try to post the one for Adios Gringo which looks like the artist had a really bad day (or were drunk)ā€¦

Seeing that even SD appreciates a nice poster, Iā€™ll certainly post (no pun intended) some moreā€¦

Danish Adios Gringo poster:

Not really that great looking (plain ugly) in my opinion. Donā€™t know who did this poster. Doesnā€™t seem be Wenzel as it doesnā€™t carry his signature and doesnā€™t look like his style.

I love it! Gemma looks like he was about to fall down and Evelyn Stewart looks like sheā€™s going to vomit. They both look kinda drunk anyway

Donā€™t know what the idea was with her hair either, looks fit for the bride of Frankensteinā€¦ Iā€™ll throw you a better one next time

But isnā€™t there anybody besides Ennioo and me who wants to flash ( :P) their posters this year ???

LOL! Thatā€™s priceless! Gemma looks like if he had one punch too much to his nose (from Nello Pazzafini I suppose). This reminds me of Thai posters which have these bright colours and odd looking people.

Iā€™ll need to get mine photographed and put up sometime soon(ish). (Iā€™ll have to get one of those host sites I presume, Iā€™ll look into it.) They are good to see - there is some great, and some not-so-great artwork out there. I had little idea that Iā€™ve collected so many until you prompted me to have a lookā€¦ Iā€™ve got various quality art including ā€¦

ā€¦ 7 different thai posters, including this one Bill - (look familiar? ;)) ā€¦ [I left the cleavage on as well - but I must get the technology to do more justice to these (posters) ;D.]

You get going, Reverend. Thereā€™s no time like the present(ish)

Well hereā€™s the Danish poster for Sartanaā€™s Hereā€¦ Trade Your Pistol for a Coffin aka Cā€™ĆØ Sartanaā€¦ vendi la pistola e comprati la bara. This time a photo montage-thingie just to show that not all Danish poster are hand-drawn:

Until the Wild East release of the movie hopefully comes out in the near future here is the Danish poster for A Long Ride From Hell aka Vivo per la tua morte

Great poster, Avatar

Those Scandinavian posters are real good, they remind me of the Belgian posters of the sixties

In Holland usually the original Italian fotobuste (they had the form of an envelope = busta) were used, but in Belgium they made their proper posters, with both a Dutch and a French title on it

I donā€™t own any of these posters, but I found some on the net recently (but forgot what site exactly)

Thanks, scherpschutter. But pleaseā€¦ Danish not Scandinavian

Iā€™m pretty sure the Swedish and Finnish posters more or less just used the ā€˜standardā€™ artwork (donā€™t know what they did in Norway canā€™t remember ever having seen a Norwegian spaghetti western poster, someone here must know). Many of these posters including the above was as mentioned fleetingly earlier drawn by a Dane named Kurt Wenzel and are Denmark exclusive

The site I mentioned is A FISTFUL OF WESTERNS; thereā€™s a link to it under LINKS (main page)

Go to IMAGES, then BELGIAN POSTER

Thatā€™s one of the funniest posters Iā€™ve ever seen
That guy on the right, shot and about to die I guess, is hilarious!
By the way: the Dutch/French title of the movie apparently was ā€˜They call me Salegoā€™ : as far as I know there was no person of that name in the movie; I have the Italian DVD with the original Italian dialogue; I think Lee was called Talby in it (but I have to check this)

I must say that the guy on the right on the DANISH (DANSK?) poster DET LANGE RIDT FRA HELVEDE is quite funny too
Or at least the situation is: what on earth is that woman up to ??

Thatā€™s why Iā€™m looking so very much forward to this movie being released  Hope we get an unrated version.

And yes DANSK eller DANSKE to be more correct ā€¦

Great poster. He is just plain terrified
