R.I.P. Legends Lost but Remembered

For many years I though he was American such was the quality of his voice, great voice. He also wrote the lyrics for the Ringo songs

For me, it’s A Pistol for Ringo. While admittedly corny (but in a good sort of way IMHO), there is just something indescribably idyllic in the theme song and the combination of Graf’s stunning voice with Morricone’s harmonic lushness as well as the maestro’s orchestration is absolutely ravishing. Oh man, it’s just gorgeous, the theme song is forever etched in my memory. It’s just stunning, the stuff of dreams.

Michael J. Pollard passed away today

Another underrated character actor who always seemed to get the unusual parts, but always did his best with what they gave him, RIP.

He and Graham Chapman were my favorites, RIP.

I believe he had suffered from dementia in the last years of his life. A legend for sure R.I.P.

Just saw on Eurkea!'s Facebook page that Japanese actor Jo “Joe” Shishido passed away at the age of 86. He was my third favorite Japanese actor after Toshiro Mifune and Tatsuya Nakadai, and I always thought Nikkatsu Studios didn’t give him enough opportunities as a leading man, though he did move seamlessly between that and character parts.

One of the most diverse actors around, having done almost every genre of film, and moving seamlessly between Art House style films and pure Entertainment fare. RIP to a fine performer.
