Thanks again guys. He would’ve loved the attention. Anyway, it’s in place.

8)[/quote]let me explain Rev, we got her on Nov 5th ( bonfire night) and we thought it was a better name than Banger could have been embarrassing calling her in at night, “Banger, come on Banger”! if you get my drift.
Yeah I see it! We got Sparky as a rescue dog and waited until a name suggested itself … for a while he was called Spunky ‘cos of what he used to try to do to the choir mistress’ hair whilst she was sleeping :P. Obviously we couldn’t carry on with this … name or behaviour.
I’m a little late on this one but film and stage actor Harve Presnell died three weeks ago at the age of 75…
He played one the of the best parts in my (first/second) favorite film Fargo as the bastard Wade Gustaffson…
Walter Cronkite has died. The voice of stability during a time of instability will be sadly missed. A funny story, he was a reporter on D-Day when his troop was mortared. The blast blew his helmet off, he grabbed his helmet & moved on. Soon he noticed that all the troops were following him. It tuns out, he grabbed a Lieutenant’s helmet instead.
I’ve seen a few pictures of him, yesterday night at Euro news.
It seems that he was very popular and credible in the United states.
Never noticed him, first now when he died, thats strange somehow
proberly won’t mean much to our Amercian Friends, but for those in europe and football followers Sir Bobby Robson passed away today from a long battle against cancer aged 76. One of the nicest men in football, he was manager of Ipswich, Newcastle, and as a England manager took them to the semi finals of the world cup. r.i.p Sir Bobby.
Yes, Bobby was a national treasure and it’s a very sad day to see him go.
Apart from being one of the genuine gentlemen of football he was a great manager who was always a creator of real football playing teams. Ipswich, PSV, Barcelona, Newcastle and our poor old national side all benefited fropm his conviction that there is a right way to play the game.
Ther’s a bit of a rockabilly corner on this forum, so it is with great sadness that I report that Billy Lee Riley died yesterday. He was a great rockabilly fellah who’s single Red Hot was overlooked, after recording at Sun Records, in favour of Jerry Lee Lewis’ Great Balls of Fire. He never went on, after this blow to the level of fame and fortune he could’ve probably had. A contemporary of the other greats satteliteing Elvis, along with Gene Vincent - he rejoins them now. RIP
Uncle Buck is one of my all time favorites from John Hughes. Too bad I can never forgive him for for the racially offensive Luk Fuck Dong character in 16 Candles.
In an update, they have two men in custody for the robbery and Murder of Vernon Forrest. The guy who actually shot Forrest is still at large.
They are now saying that Arturo Gatti commited suicide and his wife has been released. Such bullshit.
