After my second viewing I rediscovered both the at first not fully convincing performance of Giorgio Ardisson and the surprisingly able (he was a beginner in this field) direction by Musolino.

The film is definitely preferable to the quite different Cjamango - to which this one can only “envy” a less conventional and therefore more interesting female character (Perla) - and also superior to the fairly enjoyable Don’t Wait, Django… Shoot!, another Musolino production with which there are a few points of contact.

Obviously in this ‘new version’ without prologue the content of the film is reduced to a simple but intense and effective tale of revenge. A good effort, now well placed among the lesser-known SWs I like best 4/5

This particular situation is one of the points of contact between this one and Don’t Wait, Django… Shoot! to which I referred in my previous post, in any case both films preceded Once Upon a Time in the West.

Nah, I think both of Mulargia’s films are much better directed than this one. And Don’t Wait, Django… Shoot! is far superior to both Cjamango films.

I just watched this one and I loved it. Unfortunately the version I watched was the international cut version, but I still enjoyed it very much. Revenge westerns are my favorite, so even though the plot is straightforward, it was effective. I really liked Ardisson. I thought he made for a nice SW anti-hero. Ghidra was under used, but still made for a good villain. Loved the chase scene too. What can I say I’m a sucker for a revenge western 4.5 stars for me.

which version did you see?

Sartana1968, the version I saw was the shorter international version. The opening graveyard scene with the older Cjamango was cut :frowning: .

in my dvd also miss the graveyard scene

the scene that chamango shoots at the mouth of the mexican was intact? mine was cut

The version I saw has Cjamango put the gun in the Mexican’s mouth. He quotes the title of the film and pulls the trigger. When he pulls the trigger there’s a close up of Ardisson’s face.

There’s a cut between the sentence and the shots.

it was released in germany, does it had english audio or has italian audio with english subtitles?
does it had digital transfer?

It wasn’t released yet. Koch has still problems with the owner of the rights, or with the company which owns the digital transfer. Anyway there is a digital master, but it sucks. So the future of this release is still uncertain.

The 2.35 fandub from the Italian Sony pictures dvd is not bad quality.

thank you

i have the fandub

As of this writing, there is an 85-min English dub available on YouTube. (Chiedi perdono a Dio... non a me - May God Forgive You... But I Won't 1968 Dragomir Bojanić Gidra - YouTube)

The mouth-shooting scene seems cut based on what I have read here.

Pretty average but enjoyable revenge flick, first time I have seen Addison but I liked him. Ghidra is unrecognizable and underused, a pretty small and not very juicy part. Peter Martell is good in his brief appearance but looks too 1970s, out of sync with the rest of the picture. Nobody has mentioned an eye-patched Dino Strano as a deadly henchman! He does not have any lines but has two big fights with Cjamango. I love Strano, always excited to see his face pop up.

I’d say 6.5 out of 10 for me on this one.
