NEW STUFF IN AND AROUND THE SWDB IN
MARCH 2026:
Support the SWDb
No begging for money this time. Just kidding. Please donate. It really really helps, and if enough folks just donate tiny amounts, that’s even better than just two or three people donating amounts that embarrass us. Can we find 100 people who donate just 2 bucks?

Letterboxd
- Follow our official SWDb Letterboxd HQ account. Click here to learn more about that.
- On any movie page in the SWDb there is a direct link to their respective LB entry at the bottom. Click it, log the film, rate the film. Do the same on IMDb and other film platforms.
Thank you for your attention in this matter
Home video news:
March was alright, wasn’t it? Very welcome was the excellent release of Shango (both in terms of quality and extras) in the UK and the Trinity films in France (even though one of them only includes one of two existing dubs, the other could not be located apparently). There’s (another) Leone box set in Italy, which is just a money making scheme and probably includes previous discs to empty out stock. Newer releases of the dollars films in Italy now use the Arrow transfer, we’d bet our asses, the box includes the previous discs. Anyways, then there’s a few releases in Germany, the DVD are solid, so is Zorro, but the release of Two Violent Men is a desaster, and so is And God Said to Cain (stick with the Arrow release, please).
April is interesting because a rare Audie Murphy film shot in Spain gets a German DVD release, **The Mercenar**y gets an (identical) re-issue and USA/UK get an excellent box of German adventure films. Adam West also rides into town, the jury will decide if the release will be any good.
Please check the calendar regularly, we often update it several times a day!
JPC and FNAC
We have expanded our coverage of FNAC (France) links in the SWDb and we joined JPC (Germany, ships internationally quite well) partner programs. If you use any of these two, please use our links for shopping (even if you end up buying something else). This adds to our links for Amazon USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Sweden, as well as DeepDiscount and MoviesUnlimited links that we have in there. Many may be broken or out of date, please report those instances. Using these links supports the SWDb, thank you so much!
Obituaries
Our head of obits, the spaghettiologist @Tom_B had to update the boot hill cemetery with an unfortunate 7 new obituaries over the course of the last four weeks. Rest in peace!

Reviews:
Please contact us if you want your reviews published. We are especially looking for reviews of movies that have no, or very few, reviews in the SWDb. We publish them in all languages, and you don’t need to be a professional writer!
- Fidani's pale shadow of Sartana? - The Spaghetti Western Database (an in-depth Shadow of Sartana, Shadow of Your Death (1969) film review)
- others in preparation, but please keep sending us reviews, we definitely need more, in all languages!
Let’s meet in Spain (part 1)
The 60th anniversary festivities for Sad Hill and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly will be commemorated in Burgos (northern Spain), we have a discussion topic to gather info and possibily coordinate trips.. Several local places will hold screenings, workshops and other activities around the 23-26 July time span.
If you join us, let us know, maybe we can coordinate. Once there of course we need to visit all the locations, see here Category:Burgos locations (Northern Spain) - The Spaghetti Western Database
Let’s meet in Spain (part 2)
The fall will of course again see another iteration of the Almeria Western Film Festival, join it from October 8 - 12. More information at https://www.almeriawesternfilmfestival.es/home-2/
If you attend the festival, you should combine it with a few days of location hunting, for example Los Albaricoques Los Albaricoques - The Spaghetti Western Database
Videos
A new portuguese Leone documentary (open in YouTube to switch on subtitles)
Tired of Faceb00k (like us)?
For page owners like the SWDb, it’s a tiresome effort and the corporations milk us in the cage they have locked us in. So we much rather welcome and meet you all on here on our own message board - no ads, no fees, pure freedom.
One thing we’re currently trying is BlueSky, which is sort of like Twitter when it was still decent. If you’re on there, see you also on BlueSky, where we have surpassed the mark of 760 followers this week (a plus of 30 from last month).
