I can’t really remember, but that would underline my opinion that Bond is dead. But maybee I am too melancholic and have a problem with new movies.
They should cancel this series now, there are enough Bond movies
I think Brosnan was the worst, but I don’t think much of Daniel Craig either who, to me, doesn’t have the looks of a 007. Brosnan was good though in the 1987 spy film The Fourth Protocol.
But overall I have to agree with Lindberg. Enough already.
Maybe I am missing out but I have no desire to view any more Bond Films. When I here the name Bond mentioned most of the times these days it makes me want to view a low key obscure film.
But like all franchise’s, the series will only stop when the money does, and by the looks of things, thats not going to happen for quite a while…
But if they were cancelled that would be great times for the media ;D!
I think James Bond is most closely associated with the 1960s, those films had a certain feel that is missing in all the later Bonds. The 1960s was also for the most part an interesting and cool-looking decade
Here are some more vintage 007 toys ;D

Where do you get all these toys, Lindberg?
I have seen these toys at Toy and Film fairs. Very expensive if in mint condition with the original box.
yeah, I guess so. Gosh, Lindberg not only has a huge film collection but also a load of James Bond sixties toy sets!
Very retro !
Watched You Only Live Twice with the family this evening. We had fun with it of course but it is undoubtedly the weakest of the Connery Bond films. Some great set pieces but you come away feeling it was all just chewing gum and not a proper meal. Too many action scenes thrown together without a good enough story to hold them together. It also has a dull middle section where Bond is supposed to become Japanese which was just a plain old mistake.
On the whole it shows signs that they were running out of ideas and were throwing money at the project when it needed inspiration. Connery is still my favourite in the role but making a change improved things I think. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was an improvement for my money (and will be next on our family list just as soon as I find a cheap enough copy on ebay).
I pretty much agree with you Phil on You Only Live Twice; the technology had started to swamp the series; still a good climax.
You Only Live Twice is more like a science-fiction movie or a comic book than a James Bond spy-adventure

Btw the real heyday for James Bond and the other Eurospy movies was 1964 to 1967
The peak for Bond was definitely Thunderball in late 1965 and 1966, it premiered around Christmas of 1965, and is still the biggest success of the entire Bond series
And it was above all this film that all these 1960s Bond toys were released together with
;D

The above poster comes from an article speculating how OHMSS would have turned out, had it instead been released in 1967 with Connery as Bond

Interesting
I like the idea of Brigitte Bardot as the the countessa
Although I liked Diana Rigg as Emma Peel, she never seemed a good choice for OMSS
Julie Christie would have been great
