which is not European…
Understood, I think…
Am very happy with my 3 disc set of The Big Gun down from Grindhouse releasing.
I definitely like the Grindhouse release which is why I am keeping it. I just like the new release because I have the un-cut version with as much in English as possible and the rest subtitled. The Grindhouse un-cut versions is entirely subtitled. Both releases are excellent.
me too.
Picked up the greatest soundtrack ever on LP:
Also snagged these 2 cool Japanese 7" singles of Massacre Time and Django!:
I got the GBU soundtrack LP for my birthday present in 1977 … and still have it.
Yeah, good memories, Aldo… Got mine about the same time…It didn’t take long to wear out on the record player…
Shortly after, I bought the LP for the first two ‘Dollars’ films - before I’d even seen the movies themselves…
My GBU vinyl is a reprint from the early 90s possibly? Cover and label say 1968 but there’s a bar code on the back side…
Of the Dollars films I have two 33s. The Camden pictured above, and a reprint from German “RCA international”. The latter also features a bar code on the back. The Camden has some crazy taglines added to the photos on the back. Under the pic of Rupp and Prieto standing at the spit roast it says something like “The Rojo brothers share the same appetite - for blood.”
I did order the Closed Circuit disc from Severin.
Just Pre-ordered The Stranger and the Gunfighter aka Blood Money from Amazon along with Hands of a Gunfighter since I somehow missed that one in 2018 and our great @Admin just left a recommendation a month or so ago!!!
Via the ‘SWDB’, I’ve just pre-ordered this SW BD boxset from ‘Amazon UK’, which is due out on on Jan. 8th, and presently priced at £34.99.
Looks nice and all, but I won’t be going for it as I don’t want to keep buying the same films over and over again, ideally . . . unless there is a real reason to with this? (Other than packaging and art cards, I mean.)
Well, I don’t have ‘Keoma’ yet on Blu-ray, so I’m looking forward to that.
Also, the old 2013 ‘Argent’ BD release of ‘Django’, (pic below, and which I presently own), is not the nicest print that I’ve ever seen with colours etc. Dare I say it, the pic quality is pretty naff, and is quite ugly in parts…
I am hoping that this new version (from restored 4k elements) will be much better.
And, as for ‘A Bullet for the General’…well, it’s always good to have this SW classic in a box-set…
Gian Maria Volonte looks like he stepped straight off the set of ‘For A Few Dollars More’…
Well that’s fair enough then. Makes sense to do it. But having Keoma and Django on arrow video and blue underground’s BFTG, its different.
But do we know if BFTG will have a different transfer from the previous one?
