yes, however there are a few scenes inserted from other sources that are slightly inferior, but not strongly noticeable from further away. there is some DNR and compression artefacts but just the same, you’d have to look really close. overall i am very happy with how this one looks.
Edit: even the inferior scenes blend in OK. Once you know what to look out for you may notice these are less colorful and mushier, but overall they did a great job presenting an uncut version with the material available.
Another addition to the SW Collection and on the watch-list for Spagvember Fest. Looking forward to seeing Aldo Sambrell in one of his rare meaty bad guy roles
Although I’m away from my PC with all my Spagvember fest watches on it, I’m still in the Spaghetti mood! My 21st birthday is next Wednesday so I’ve gone halves with my parents for a pretty nice turntable + speakers for the occasion (because another physical media obsession is definatley what my wallet needs right now ). Naturally, I have to have some spaghetti soundtracks for it so I’ve gone for two of my all-time favourites from Maestro Morricone:
That looks expensive!? … I still buy 2nd hand vinyl occasionally, and got some great Morricone soundtracks for about a fiver each a few years ago - The Big Gundown, Navajo Joe and Guns for San Sebastian … original 60s releases in great condition at a fraction of what new records cost. Viva ebay!
Came to around £22~ with shipping so not too shabby for such a niche record! I got it off Discogs in Like New condition.
Most of my collection so far are from charity shops, eBay or a little second hand record shop in my home town. I’ve heard people are fussy with vinyls and make a big deal about keeping them pristine but all of the old records I have from the 60s/70s that I’ve got from second hand shops or taken from my grandparents attic (thank god my dad had good taste when he was young!) have sounded crystal clear once I’ve given them a quick brush!
Washing up liquid in lukewarm water with a soft cloth is great at getting rid of dust and greasy finger prints … just don’t get the label wet.
Playing vinyl really is a different experience … like a special occasion - I’m glad it’s making a comeback. CDs were very exciting in the late 80s … but there’s something too clinical and cold about digital recordings.
I picked up the Fistful and FAFDM Kino Blu rays for $60 together the other day. Been snoozing a long time to upgrade these so was very happy to find them this cheap with slipcase and all, a perfect treat for Spaghvember. Will still keep the German double feature for the extras.
I have a strong feeling there’ll be some European release of this in the near future (my guess is that everything that’s out in Japan on HD will arrive here ultimately)
A Bullet for Sandoval BD came, and I’m really happy with it. Turns out the DVD I have is also a VCI release, and in comparing them the new blu ray is miles ahead. I found a few of the new scenes and what they’ve done really doesn’t bother me, they weren’t on the previous dvd so you get a better picture quality and about 10mins of extra footage. No complaints from me.
Yeah, I know. Seb was saying there would be European versions of the Japanese releases, so I was saying I hope there would be European ones of a US one that I want.
