It’s a term from the old VHS days

You and me both. My set will turn up in a month according to amazon.co.uk so will be old news when I get it

I finally received and watched the The Dirty Outlaws/El desperado bluray from Explosive Media. Around 5 minutes extra compared to my old DVD-R and significantly better image quality.

I still need high image quality discs to replace my remaining 12 DVD-Rs on my Top 52 SW list (i.e. those rated 7/10 or higher).
Especially for El Puro, Blood River, Awkward Hands, Challenge Of The Mackennas, Vengeance For Vengeance, Two Faces Of The Dollar and Go With God, Gringo new English friendly high image quality releases would be very appreciated.

Amigos and Amigas,

I have struck SW gold today, for in the mailbox today was this

A brand new/sealed copy of the Koch Media Blindman DVD. The price I paid: $19.99 USD! :+1:t2:

I’m not sure if the eBay seller I bought the item from didn’t know it was a long out of print item or if he was selling this, and a few other dvd imports, for someone else. Either way I’m happy to have gotten this cool early 70’s gem for around the $20 mark.

After months of speculating and more months of waiting, it’s finally here in my hands!

I wish that Amazon would ship in time for the customer to potentially have the box set on the release date but alas still waiting for my preordered copy to ship.

Well the projected release date on Amazons has always been today, hasn’t it? I don’t wanna protect these mooks, but from that I understand Amazon isn’t the one deciding how many copies Arrow is providing to them to ship to customers, so it is probably first come first serve and the rest will have to wait until Arrow sends more to fill Amazon’s stock… although I would assume their system is intelligent enough to predict this in time before release day according to the number of pre-orders… It should all ship this week for sure tho I hope

Yes release date today and it’s this way always with amazon. I’m sure they have had copies laying around for some days but just elect to ship them late. Shipping on release date isn’t on time in my book. And Amazon is not a 2 guy operation trying to fulfill orders either so it really should be doable for them. Also I imagine they at least get copies enough sent to fulfill initial preorders else what is the point of preordering if you are not secured a copy.

I can wait but Amazon really is hopeless in this regard.

Yeah, I agree. I’m in the same boat with you on that one. I can wait, too, but honestly a pre order should really ship before the release date if you ask me. My projected delivery date as it stands is a week after release, of course it could still come at some point between then and now.

Same with the Cosa Nostra box set. Release date today but no shipment yet. At least that is “preparing to dispatch”. My bloody spaghetti western box set hasn’t even reached that state yet  Just seems odd.

I pre-order through HMV most of the time and they dispatch 3 days before release date as their delivery takes 3 days. 99% of my pre order arrive on their release day which is nice.

I’m in the UK. I ordered from Amazon.co.uk. They say they will deliver July 29.

I just received the Cjamango Bluray from Amazon. By me only 6/10-rated but it might be worth the hopefully better image quality compared to my DVD-R.

It’s not an enormous jump from the previous DVD but ok

From my copy it was a big improvement and about 4 minutes more. So it was really worth it !

Hm, if you compare this BD to the Koch DVD there are millions miles between.
The Koch DVD was weak and cut.

The 4 minutes sounds a lot like mostly PAL speedup. Your dvd-r was probably just a rip off of the Koch Media dvd.
