Horror Films

I used to get stung from xploited all the time so i had to stop using them which is a shame, i now use it to find out what’s available

this better

http://dvdpacific.com/item.asp?ID=844896

in the U.K as long as the value of the items inside are not worth over $35-36 (£18) there is no customs charge.

You can get Tony from xploited to mark a lower value on the package. Should get most of it through unharmed

Here’s a thread on another forum about the £1 Hard Gore DVDs, seems they’re not so easy to track down :frowning:
In the shops that have them the DVDs are placed among the general halloween stock!!!

When they asked me who sent it they knew and mentioned that they quite often find banned horrors and porn in parcels he sends out.

I already got warned by customs years ago for importing an Uncut “Nightmare City” into the country, i still have it somewhere, at my parents i think.

Funny thing is it’s uncut here now anyway!

Interesting reading. Well, my trip to town was fruitless. I looked on both our pound shops and all they had were crappy cartoons, some Bollywood films and a couple of no budget kung fu flicks!

I always find this kind of thing very interesting. I get about 75% of all my films from Xploited, and have never once been charged extra or even had any package opened. I’ve also ordered stuff from all over the world, from legit businesses and private sellers and still no extra charges… I had one parcel from ETC opened, but the note in it said they had just opened it because there was no declaration of what was inside.

Guess i must just be lucky… ???

Guess he sends more to Britain than Denmark. Am sure Danish customs would just let it pass unharmed, mainly they just go for the packages which have a clearly marked value above the limit (which is 80 kr in Denmark that is around $14).

OK, so you cannot import an uncut title which is cut (censored) in Britain?? That sounds absurd. Luckily we don’t have any censorship in Denmark.

I’d like to point everybody’s attention to

Ah, but SD, you’re forgetting “House of the Long Shadows,” Pete Walker’s 1983 film (which also has the invaluable John Carradine in it.) It’s been years since I’ve seen it but I remember liking it…

Thanks for that information which is correct.
I left out they FIRST APPEARED together in
SCREAM AND SCREAM AGAIN 69 Classic Horror Thriller Directed By Gordon Hessler.
Later as you said "House Of Long Shadows"1982 with prolific great John Carradine too

PETER CUSHING as Sherlock Holmes 1959

What do you all think about Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and the 14 Rathbone/Holmes movies ???

Well…they do not make pipes like that any more :D.

As much as I like Peter Cushing, I think Jeremy Brett was the best Sherlock.

Growing up in the 80’s I can only agree. Has of course something to with the fact that Brett was the Holmes I was more or less first came in contact with. It’s damn hard not to compare other Holmes’s with Brett and him not coming out the winner though. A matter of taste of course.

BASIL RATHBONE PETER CUSHING STEWART GRANGER are the GREATEST

ACTORS ever to play Sherlock Holmes FOR ME. I fear that Brett does ZERO or less

BASIL RATHBONE in the 1940s along with NIGEL BRUCE as Watson made the character
a living legend based on the Classic Arthur Conan Doyle Books. Rathbone was superb

PETER CUSHING in the 1959 HAMMER Classic HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES & in The 60s BBC TV Series was equally skilful, charming, witty and intelligent as Rathbone.

STEWART GRANGER The UK’s Greatest Romantic Adventure Hero played Holmes in
HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES 1972 Film and was charismatic, debonair as Peter/Basil.

RONALD HOWARD the son of Leslie Howard played Homes in a 1950s TV Series nicely.

I am afraid that I tuned in to see Jeremy Brett in the 1980s and was DISAPPOINTED ???

BASIL RATHBONE THE DEFINITIVE HOLMES

It is sad that “Hound of Baskerville” was the only Sherlock Holmes Movie made by the Hammer Studios. Peter Cushing was a great Sherlock Holmes.

Watched 2 other Hammer Movies the last week: Curse of the werewolf (1961) and The Evil of Frankenstein (1964). Both I found really enjoyable.

I completely agree ! Rathbone is my favorite Holmes ! Haven’t seen any Jeremy Brett stuff yet. Anyway I like the style of the old movies from the '30s and '40s !!!
