Hello Dolly!
Those new DVDs are nice. The covers look better than mine… although my “Django - Kreuze im Blutigen Sand” is really good…
yeah, this is what i’m wondering… not a huge fan of this film and i haven’t purchased yet, will probably go with the BU disc as its quite cheap, unless the Koch is worth the extra…
I will post a note on the comparison issue as soon as I’ve watched the new Koch disc. the difference between the old and the new Koch disc seem to be quite enormous though, and I always though the old Koch was about identical to the BU release… but we’ll see
Koch’s DVD release of IL MERCENARIO will have a 16-rating
running time of about 102 minutes.
it will probably released later this year (summer/fall) and have nice extras
Good news, Marshall!
I’m watching Run Man Run now, in preparation for a German DVD review. I’ll have a comparison up by tomorrow.
btw, this one has English AUDIO AND SUBTITLES!
Should please everyone then .

The Italian audio isn’t as good as the english audio on the Blue Underground disc… I wonder if it’s better on the koch version?
ok I’ll also compare that. I have to say I’m generally not pleased with the audio on the Koch disc, no matter which track… but the picture looks amazing, aside from a few scenes.
I’ll look at the old koch disc and the BU disc tomorrow and report back
There are a couple of good spaghettis that should get Koch releases.
His Name Was Holy Ghost
Get Mean
Cut Throats Nine
Taste of Vengeance
I think there’s a good chance for Get Mean. Yet I have no idea who owns the rights for cut throats nine, and I think the movie’s not easy to get un-banned in Germany, so it’s commercially hardly viable to release it. no idea about the others.
but apparently koch licensed a whole catalog of titles. so there’ll be plenty to be happy about. dont forget: hardly any company does so much for “us”
just think about all the amazing shit they’ve put out this year and that they’ll still put out. at a quality that’s just mindblowing

Nice ;D
Okay I am finishing up my review with a short (screenshot) comparison. The review is in German but I’ll post the text of the comparison part in English and the screenshots are self explanatory.
The new Koch wins hands down in terms of image quality, Blue Underground comes second, old Koch Sollima box disc third.
Seb, are the german subtitles dubtitles (like in the Box release)? Or did Koch spend the new DVD new subs?
so many questions
I’ll check it out, let me finish the review first and then I’ll add this information
ok a short look reveals that the German subtitles are the same as the old one even though they look better now
here’s the comparison in english:

Unfortunately, “Il ritorno di Ringo” and “Sella d’argento” don’t have English subtitles.
but english audio. i dont see reason for complaint here
Im just happy to finally be able to see “sella d’argento”
Yeah either English audio or english subs are good enough for me. To ask for both is asking for too much. Although I would appreciate any semblance of english on the special features.
