Ed Byrnes isn’t that bad. Maybe he’s too clean cut for a Spaghetti Western, but I quite like him in Any Gun Can Play. The fact that he looked very American, caused me great shock when he turned out to be a double-crosser in the film!
I’ve ordered the VHS of Red Blood, Yellow Gold, I’ll see how he is in that one.
I don’t like Any Gun Can Play anyway, but Bynres makes it even worse…

I must say that I kinda like Edd Byrnes… I see the spaghetti western actors as one big pot of different flavoured meat and Byrnes may be a bit too spicy for some (or not spicy enough) but he is a different flavour than most in the genre and I kind of like that. Would probably hate the other stuff he’s worked in though

My problem with Edd Byrnes is the associations I have with him in my mind. Every time I see his face I hear in my head that goddawful hit novelty record he made “Kookie Lend Me Your Comb.” And I wince.
Oh I don’t know… The twists and turns weren’t very complicated. I certainly didn’t get confused. Were they necessary? Probably not, but it was suppose to be a spoof of Spaghetti Westerns like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, which did have quite a few twists and turns.

I didn’t say, they were confusing. They were superfluous, because they intended to make the plot more interesting, but failed in doing that. Especially in the end when they all laugh like idiots it was hard for me to keep the last meal back inside…
Yes. I don’t find him a bad actor. I think in some ways he’s quite good.
Ah, the ending. I actually really liked that aspect of sending up The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. They did it very well. I found myself laughing when they shot the organ pipes instead of themselves.
I have the Byrnes but I don’t have the Powers one yet. Maybe they can come out with a Tony Kendall (RIP) double feature? He made some pretty bad SW’s too.
