[DVD] Latest and Upcoming Releases

Hossein claims it apparently in the DVD interview, as mentioned in the german review of the DVD which is linked above.

Is there anything Argento-like in the film?

The atmosphere is Argento-like at times

Oh, right. Read it now more carefully and remarked it. So we can delete the Argent part on the une core un colt page…

Let’s wait and hear what Hosein really has said. After all Argento has got an official credit.

I hate this fucking limited edition bullshit they are pulling here, again. why do such a thing? you can’t even get this at Amazon. this is ridiculous, just like the XRated/NK stuff… only mail-order websites and weird trade events… fuck that… is that some anti-capitalist “we don’t wanna make money” thing??? I am pissed

Small publishers will always lack something in the distribution department. A year or so ago (can’t remember exactly, help me out) you couldn’t get Wild East-releases from Amazon but only from other websites. So come on there are plenty of web shops to order from. What you SHOULD complain about would be the price which is way too high. Doesn’t mean I won’t be buying it though.

By the way, every spaghetti western release apart from the Leone westerns are bound to be limited editions. It’s in their nature

I don’t agree.
Just because they probably sell only a few copies, because it is a spaghetti western, doesn’t mean they need to limit themselves. They could produce a higher number, distribute it everywhere, lower the price a little therefore, and then make a lot more money. Buoi Omega and XRated/NK are the only companies that immediately come to my mind that act like fanboy exclusive limited edition asses… it’s just ridiculous, and I don’t think anyone can come up with a good reason to pursue such a business strategy…

Some companies take the ‘piss’ on the price of these films, which is a shame, as it only encourages the ‘copy’ market .

exactly. if that dvd was available on amazon, why would anyone wanna get a bootleg or download it? but the way it is now, there’ll be plenty of cemetery without crosses torrents in a few weeks…

I don’t see why Wild East is that much better then. They are avaliable on Amazon but that’s it really, then you need to find them at special dealers like xploitedcinema or off ebay. Why are Wild East better then? And I still don’t understand why you won’t buy them off the special dealers then which are bound to be at least as ‘cheap’ as amazon. I just don’t see the big problem.

Producing a higher number would mean keeping a bigger stock and I don’t think these small businesses want to do that. Even if the price went down a bit it wouldn’t necessarily mean that they could be sold. Risky business.

As for prices. This Cemetery-thingie is hopefully a one-shot, wouldn’t like to see x-rated titles going that way.

I kind of agree with sebastian when it comes to amazon. I dont trust other sites that much. i dont even use the marketplace at amazon. and i allways buy enought to get around paying for shipping(at least at amazon.de). I dont buy spaghettis for any price. i mean i am dying to see the mercenary but still would not pay something like 30 dollars. But i still dont want to load it down(the mercenary) I wanna support the companies but something the fuck up a bit too much to do so.

I don’t think 30 dollars would do for the Mercenary, you would have to cough up at least 50 bucks. Damn those Japanese releases.

Trust is an entirely different matter. Have never been cheated any of the places I’ve shopped in Germany and Austria so have no problems.

As for free amazon-postage: Doesn’t help us poor folks living outside Britain or Germany one bit

I didn’t say I wouldn’t buy them, but I certainly would prefer to buy them “the normal way” through amazon or something

If there is no other way, why not buy on marketplace. I can nowhere find Quien Sabe (german release). On the marked place it is for 15 €. Or Bounty Killer. On the market place for 2 bucks or whatever. Why not…?!

and i said i would not pay 30 nor 50 € for one single film.

to marketplace: i just dont like paying shipping, period. so amazon allways gets me to cross their 20 € limit or buy it together with a book. but better than paying the postman.
bounty killer is 2 bucks on the market place, so the shipping would cost more than the actual movie right. i bought it from amazon for 4,50.

in general amzon.de seems to have gotten a lot of spags back in stock: sabata 4.50€ or death rides a horse same price which was before around 20 at marketplace.

Check your post on the top of this page. There you mention 30 dollars but no matter.

When buying from Amazon.de I have to pay the difference between the Danish and German VAT. Germany is 19% whereas Denmark is 25% so have to add 5% to the prices including the postage. But true Amazon has some cheap items here and there but most of it is more expensive than buying from another German webshop where I also don’t have to pay the VAT-difference. Makes more sense ordering more from amazon.de when you live in Germany. That’s life.

okay i did not know that they had 25% vat. and in germany everybody was screaming about the raise from 16 to 19%. which site do you order your films from then. the german one you mentioned?? i am an amzon.de fanboy in a way

Yeah, I guess Denmark is one of the countries with the highest VAT. A pain in the a** when ordering from abroad and getting caught in customs.

Recently all my ordering has been from www.italopapst.de… Earlier I’ve dealt a couple of times at www.dtm.at and some other Austrian site. Have also ordered from temeon.de and delta-shopping.de. Italopapst is the cheapest in regards to xrated releases but sadly only accepts paypal (and probably also bank transfer, but doesn’t help me).

This is very high VAT !

I never knew the rate was this high in Denmark.

Yes, Denmark has highest VAT but it is state of welfare. What to say for the obstacles I have to overcame to obtain DVDs. I live in the country with GDP per head of 3.800USD , I must search for the bargain prices in few available on-line shops who will send there, our postal system is not so reliable and so on. Fortunately, amazon.de has drop P&P costs for my country from 13,00 to 6,00EUR. Although, it is geographically in Europe, they used to treat it as “rest of the world”.
