[DVD] Latest and Upcoming Releases

It was announced for mid 07, but then be postponed.

It will be uncut and in perfect condition, but I have no idea about the language options.

The german title is again a shitty one, and the german dub (which only goes for 84 min) has partly some annoying comedy parts.

The best thing would be to make a new quality dub, but I doubt it.

Same goes for the rerelease of Koch’s The Big Gundown.

The Italian SW database (altervista) has published a new review, with some new elements and interpretations.

According to this new review, Halliday was responsable for some of the more controversial script elements; a reference is made to one of his chansons. I’m going to check these things first, then I’ll translate the article and (if interesting/relevant) the lyrics of Halliday’s song in question.

As far as this german release is concerned:
If they use the same master as for the french release, it will look gloriously. I’ve hardly ever seen a better looking SW release.
German subtitles are mentioned, so if the German dub is really that shitty (a lot of Klamauk I suppose), you can always chose the french dub with german subs. Like I mentioned on the film’s thread, the french audio is clear, but a bit tame.

koch’s big gundown? what about that? what does it have to do with that? that’s an amazing dvd, it will be just the one in the box, but seperate. no annoying comedy bits, and the dub is okay
koch’s big gundown? what about that? what does it have to do with that? that’s an amazing dvd, it will be just the one in the box, but seperate.
I’ve heard that they fixed the audio a bit in re-release. There was some problems with certain dvd-players or something.

i thought he was referring to the comedy aspect or something

No no, no comedy syncro, but the dubbing of the (also very short german) version is often so completely false, that it doesn’t match with the subtitles of the restored parts. The german dub of the Big Gundown is very bad and destroys the film on the audio level.

Even in the remastered Koch version? Is the english dub faithful?

the german dub on the gundown dvd is acceptable. the subtitles are better, so watching it in italian with subtitles is in fact the best option

Apache Kid aka Bianco Apache aka White Apache

out from Suevia. Apparently with English dub.

Nasty little movie … cheerless, barbaric, overtly violent and mean spirited … in other words, it’ll sell like hotcakes.

Oh for sure…and I will be one of them!

Heads up, apparently Amazon.de have e-mailed people who pre-ordered the Koch ‘UN TRENO PER DURANGO’ DVD to say that it has been cancelled. :frowning:

Next 3 Koch DVDs are announced for April.

Treno per Durango will possibly be released in autumn (if they sell enough of their previous releases).

Yes lets hope sales go better this time so we won’t have to wait a year or more before more is released.

Roll on April then ;D.

Does anyone know about these German releases from VZ-Handelsgesellschaft

re-releases of X-rated’s releases maybe?

I’m waiting on whether I should get the Django and Hallelujah box sets from Koch or wait for the titles to come out separately. If I don’t here any news I’ll get the boxes later this year. The only reason why I prefer seperate titles is I don’t really care for the supposedly average 3rd movies that go along with the box.

Yes apparently they should be cheap versions of x-rateds releases. That is, in normal amaray-cases instead of hartboxes like we’ve seen previously with a couple of their other titles.

I think that’s positive, as the hardboxes were usually not available on Amazon

I don’t think you should bet on these ever being released separately by Koch Media… If I were you I would get these as soon as possible as they are bound to go OOP soon. That has just happened to the Sollima Box Set and is bound to happen to the Django and Halleluja box sets as well which didn’t get produced in the same quantities as the Sollima Box (I think, please someone correct me) which came out in 5000 copies.

That said I really don’t think there were any bad movies in either set, but ok if you’re only going for the creme de la creme I see your problem.
