I have bought some time ago ALL these stupendous Sollima/Django/Hallelujah
BOX SETS and they are worth every penny, with extras like colour booklets etc.

But thatâs for me the problem too with these boxes. Unlike the Sollima box the quality in the other 2 varies enormous.
One good film which I would buy as a single DVD:
10 000 Dollars for a Massacre
They Call Me Halleluja
One OK film, which fits at least with the 1st one despite that itâs no Django/Halleluja :
For 100 000 Dollars per Killing
They Call Him Cemetery
One average/below average film, which is also completely different from the other 2:
Execution
Raise your Hands, Dead Man ⌠Youâre under Arrest
(And the last one is a âwasting my time boreâ. Kochâs worst SW release so far.)
If you make a box the films should be connected by themes, style, quality.
Nevertheless itâs sad that Koch wasnât able to sell enough from them, so that the SW boxes are meanwhile history.
The thing about it is that I already have DVD Râs of 10 000 Dollars for a Massacre, They Call Me Halleluja, For 100 000 Dollars per Killing and They Call Him Cemetery.
I only want to rebuy these movies under Koch because:
- I support offical releases
- Lovely quality of prints
- Exquisite special features, such as the 50 minute Garko tribute.
However, Iâm not that interested in Execution or Raise your Hands, Dead Man ⌠Youâre under Arrest.
But I guess Iâll buy the boxes anyway. What da heck.
Youâre right Stanton about the movies in a box should be connected in some way, but sometimes koch canât secure rights so they have to ad an inferior title as filler.
But thatâs what Iâm saying, if there is not enough fitting material for a box, release them seperate.
Why making a Halleluja box if you donât have the rights for the sequel? And instead taking a film whichâs only connection is, that the german distributor had smuggeled a Halleluja in the title. Same goes for the âDjango boxâ with 2 dubbing Djangoâs.
They wanted to release a Anthony Steffen box, these at least would have had 3 Steffen SWs in it. But now they come seperate.
I know a lot of collectors like these box sets so I am probably not typical but I much prefer to buy films as single releases. The only time I want a box set is if Iâm getting a better deal on the price for buying 3, 4 , 5 films at once. I did this with the RHV Italian 5 disc box set. 5 films totally unrelated (except for the 2 MacGregor films) but great value bought together at about a fiver each. The Koch box sets might be great quality but at 45-50 euros for 3 films are priced higher than they would normally cost individually.
On top of that, if you already own 1 or even 2 of the titles previously you are unlikely to stump up that money just for the one title you actually want. This means the company involved is actually restricting their own sales.
At the end of the day, I think companies are better off releasing films as stand alone titles where sales will be maximised. Someone like myself, with a limited amount available to indulge in my collecting is far more likely to be able to justify frequent small purchases than big lumps at one go.
What I always regret and feel uneasy about is having impulse bought a âbootlegâ DVD-r
with no extras just to have that Great Film to watch in any way possible and then :
The OFFICIAL RELEASE of the Film happens with superb picture/audio/extras 
You feel like a right dummy for not having waited, but thats life at times.
I can see Philâs point if your budget is limited (most of us ?) but have always been very
pleased with BOX SETS bought (westerns, horror, scifi) provided that each film was
remastered from original negatives and not pan and scan.
The Box Sets made and sold by companies like KOCH are collectors items and a must buy
whereas some sets with say 50 movies for $10 are clearly going to be poor/wasted $. :â(
I agree with all the previous posters.
I too have a limited budget and these box sets are a bit pricy and have stuff included that I donât feel is necessary.
At the same time, these are MUST BUYS for any SW fan, especially Garko fans so I still feel obliged to pay the hefty sum to enjoy these treasures, especially considering the high quality of these releases.
I just wish that Koch would go about it differently in releasing these movies. Sell Box sets only if the movies are connected and donât add in unconnected third movies just to serve as filler, which adds expenses.
Iâve seen either the Hallelujah or Django box set at below 30 euro and the other one at 35 euro⌠Really not that bad for what you get.
And donât forget the soundtrack cds you get with each as a bonus. You get your moneyâs worth AND more in my opinion. Considering what many other spaghetti westerns releases are sold at Koch Media is doing us a big favour⌠Buy! Buy! Buy!

I bought mine a long time ago at temeon.de which now has the Django-box at about 27 euro and the Halleluja-box at 36 euro⌠Their postage has sadly gone through the roof. Was 6 euro or so in 2007, is now 15 euro (!).

Dakota - Nur der Colt war sein Gesetz aka Brother Outlaw comes from Simple Movies this month. No specs but probably in original aspect ratio and with English dub.
Another film then that first became released by Global and popping up on another label, and of course it will not be the lastâŚDEAD MEN DONâT MAKE SHADOWS from Wild East will be another one later this year.
But correct me if I am wrong AvatarDK, but I think you may have mentioned/touched on this point in the past.
Yes we will probably see a lot of existing releases being âoverruledâ by new ones The German dvd-companies are up-to-speed again and I donât think they look at whatâs been released elsewhere. The Germans want German dubs on their spaghetti westerns so companies like X-Rated and Simple and to lesser degree New Entertainment / Eyecatcher will tread already trodden ground.
It is interesting though how the Wild East and Global Video releases have clashed recently. Unholy 4 and soon probably Dead Men Donât Make Shadows and Arizona Colt Returns.
The Brother Outlaw-release from Global was only fullscreen though so an upgrade is needed.
