Actually, I also left out Frank Quitely, Steve McNiven, Simon Bisley and Dale Keown. I suck at this.
Right, Dale Keown! I love the way he drew The Hulk…No Todd Mcfarlane fans? :o
I used to be as a teen, but I have simply grown out of him.
OMG I just discovered ATTILIO MICHELUZZIhttp://comic-historietas.blogspot.com/2009/09/attilio-micheluzzi-y-el-cuarto-se-queda.html!
Keith Giffen. He can draw many different styles…I thought Trencher was amazing.
I also like Giffen as a writer, when he does satire or comedy. His Ambush Bug is the most inventive meta book, no matter what Grant Morrison fans say. PunX was also amazing in this regard.
Cant believe I’m saying this but I saw the trailer to Thor and I thought it looked pretty good. At least visually they’re making an effort to look like the comic book. I dont expect to see Beta Ray Bill though There haven’t been to many live action comic movies I’ve liked. The only ones I can think of are Conan the Barbarian, the first Iron Man, Kick Ass and 300.
I was at the Kapow! Comic Conhttp://www.kapowcomiccon.com/ at the weekend, so I’ve been getting quite excited about comics. I finished reading the full set of Y: The Last Man, which was amazing. One of the best runs I have ever read.
Right now I’m really digging early Luke Cage comics. I wish there were more awesome blaxploitation-influenced superheroes.
I have also been checking out Garth Ennis’ 303, which has its moments.
You should also check out the old Power Man and Iron Fist series. I remember some of them being very good,
Hero for Hire becomes Power Man and Iron Fist at issue 50, so don’t worry, I’m getting to those.
Punisher MAX Volumes 1 to 10 by Garth Ennis and various artists, This run by Ennis is so good, it’s right up there with his Preacher work, and am just not saying this cause am a Punisher fan.
Also:
I know Jonah Hex has already been mentioned, but the comic really is that good any SW fan would love this comic best American western comic for the last five years, beating even the likes of the excellent Loveless and Lone Ranger comics.
Plus:
Scalped, by Jason Aaron , great crime comic set In a modern Native American town, that good I would recommend to non crime and western fans. Aaron is also writing Punisher MAX at the moment taking over from Ennis and he is doing a great job to…
Anyone a fan of EC comics? I have a couple hardbound collections of war comics and I have purchased the 5 issue run of Aces High as well. If you are a fan of war comics EC is the publisher to read with their great art work (leaps bounds ahead of DC, Atlas, Charlton etc) and they did not produce the highly pro-war tripe that was rampant in 1950’s America.
Frontline Combat Volume 1 (issues 1-6)
Two Fisted Tales Volume 1 (issues 1-6)
Two Fisted Tales Volume 2 (issues 7-12)
I’m still loving the old Luke Cage comics, and all the current titles I pick up. I have also recently read the first story arc of Morning Glories:
At first I thought it was really great, then I started to get a bit tired of it. A little overrated, given the prices the early issues are going for on eBay.
An other graphic novel collection I would like too recommend , called as you can tell:
Blueberry.
Any SW fan would love this series, very much more a western in the old sense than say Jonah Hex, but Brilliant all the same.
Here is a rundown:
Blueberry is a Franco-Belgian comics western series created by the Belgian scriptwriter Jean-Michel Charlier and French comics artist Jean “Mœbius” Giraud. It chronicles the adventures of Mike Blueberry on his travels through the American Old West. Blueberry is an atypical western hero; he is not a wandering lawman who brings evil-doers to justice, nor a handsome cowboy who “rides into town, saves the ranch, becomes the new sheriff and marries the schoolmarm.”[1]

The film adaptation has its moments too.

… but has absolutely nothing to do with the comics.
Except the name presumably
Except the names and a few story elements, but only a few.
Are the Blueberry comics back in print in English? I have the Confederate Gold Saga, which is in black and white, and a few of the volumes (Angel Face and the Dutchman’s Mine, I think). I’d like to fill in the rest, and read Lieutenant Blueberry for the first time.
Thing is new nothing new lately has come out in English, which is a real Shame when looking at the below image:
I would really like more Blueberry to come out, the old MARVEL EPIC Graphics are big money to buy and I myself do not have them all.
But maybe soon, lol.
