Alternative Top 20

I would tend to look at it this way. The original “O Cangaceiro” film by Lima Barreto does not fit in the Spaghetti Western genre. The later “O’ Cangaceiro” (with the funny apostrophe) film by Giovanni Fago and starring Tomas Milian does fit in the genre.

Old:

Last call for any Alternative Top 20 changes.
I’ll be updating the list over the next couple of days.

Updated for another year.

A few changes in position but only one film replaced.

Back comes A Pistol for Ringo and out goes Light the Fuse…Sartana is Coming!. Nice to see Ringo back in the list. The other major climber was Dead Men Ride but didn’t quite make it into the top 20. It’s all very close around the bottom really so a couple of votes one way or the other can get a film in or out very easily.

Cool to see Ringo in there. I suppose it’s all a matter of principle.

Yes, a bit late to affect this year’s update but I’ll add it to the spreadsheet and will include next time.
Is this your first list or an update? If an update please re-post your previous one so I can see the changes easily.

No hate, just disappointment.

We don’t hate, we laugh and feel sorry for you …

Don’t worry, I know Stanton has lovely things to say about number 19

No need. I’ll still be having a good time watching it.

It’s my first attempt at an alternative top 20 but I think I rushed it a bit. Sonny and Jed should be higher and there’s a few films that I forgot about like Los Amigos, Cowards Don’t Pray and They Call Him Cemetery, which should probably be in there. It’s not an easy list to create, even worse than a top 20.

Yes, the Alt 20 is harder to pick I think. Once you get past the obvious ones in the official T20 there are a lot of contenders that probably feel pretty equal. The good news is it doesn’t matter where you place a film in your alt 20 list as they all get 1 point each regardless. I chose that system for just this reason.

My Alt 20.
