Btw, compared to your top 20. there are no films from your top 20 (if I’m not wrong). The idea of the alternative top 20 is only to omit the films of the forums’s top 20, the one from the main site.
Means, normally all films of ones top 20, which are not in the forum’s top 20, should be/ could be here.
Yes, this is what I was mentioning the other day which folk often do and I don’t really understand why. For example, based on UglyOne427’s official Top 20 (which has 12 films which qualify for the Alt 20) I would expect his Alt 20 list to look something like the following:
1.California (1977)
2.The Hellbenders (1967)
3.Silver Saddle (1978)
4.Death Sentence (1968)
5.The Dirty Outlaws (1967)
6. Four of the Apocalypse (1975)
7.The Strangers Gundown (1969)
8. Minnesota Clay (1964)
9.Shoot the Living… Pray for the dead (1971)
10.Viva Django (1968)
11.The Ugly Ones (1966)
12.Navajo Joe (1966)
13.Long Days of Vengeance (1967)
14.And God Said Cain (1970)
15.Massacre Time (1966)
16.Requiem for a Gringo (1968)
17.El Puro (1969)
18. Nest of Vipers (1968)
19.Sonny and Jed (1972)
20.Kill and Pray (1967)
At the end of the day it is your list though UglyOne427 so you can choose whatever you like. It just seems a shame that if you really like California, Minnesota Clay and Hellbenders etc enough to rate them that high on your official 20 list that they don’t get that reflected in the Alt 20 list which I think they really should and I would think you would want.
Your call amigo.

Hi Charlie! Welcome to the SWDB, amigo. Death Sentence is a terrific choice to head up an alternative top 20, it’s a big favourite of mine.
another person who loves nest of vipers!
You were doing so well until that last one!
I guess there’s no accounting for taste.
Just kidding amigo. And welcome to the site.
“The White, the Yellow and the Black” just fell short…
I have done some reshuffling of my Top 20 list (no additions or subtractions) and now turn my attention to the Alternative list.
After a recent re-watch, I think I’ll drop “$1000 on the Black” from my list. I last saw it years and years ago. No enthusiasm this time. Currently mulling over a half dozen flicks for that slot, including “Yankee” (Brass), “$100,000 for a Killing” (Fago), “The Last Killer” (Vari), and “The White, the Yellow, and the Black” (Corbucci).
On deck for a first-time view-- “Boot Hill,” “One After Another,” and “Sonny and Jed.”
I used to like 1000 on the Black, now I think it’s just stupid.
Hey - it’s a fantastic film if you turn it off right after its amazing intro sequence.
A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe might end up in my alternative top 20, as well. I’ve watched it three times so far and I’ve given it a 4/5 rating every time.
Just a quick reminder that I will be doing my usual update of the alternative Top 20 over Christmas so if anyone wants to submit a list or change their previous one, now is a good time.
One request, if you are changing a previous list please let me know what is being replaced with what or copy and paste your old list as well as your new so i can make the correct adjustments.
