Xploited Cinema

Just noticed that Tony has the newest Koch Media releases as well. ;D

Get’em while they’re hot!

I’m trying to review them ASAP, got them in the mail from Koch today. They sure look nifty. I can only imagine what a shiny rainbow this will be when they hit spine number 50

50 ?
I hope that is the plan!

Seb, do you know if the newer koch release of The Big Gundown is basically the same disc as the one in the Koch Sergio Sollima box set? Of the new Koch releases it is the only one I have not gotten.
Thanks

I posted a review. it is a slight visual improvement, but aside from that it is more or less the same. for the price, i’d say fill the gap, but only if you don’t mind spending another 10 bucks.

here’s the review, but only in german so far, haven’t had the time to translate: Der Gehetzte der Sierra Madre DVD review - The Spaghetti Western Database

Thanks for the info. To get it through xploited it costs twice that much but I will probably get it anyway. I have the Franco Cleef too. It would knaw at me if it was the only Koch release I did not have.

yeah, that’s the collector’s spirit. 20 bucks is a bit cheap if you have it already, but if you consider how many crappy shit movies out there cost 30 bucks…

I check their site everyday. More and more items are now out of stock. A lot of the Franco Cleef releases are out of stock. Even one of the most recent Koch releases is out of stock.
Waaa fuckin’ waaaa.
It is like watching a good friend slowly die.

end of the world sale! buy everything you can before the world ends! haha

Seriously. Don’t wait. He’s done and this is what he wants. It’s the end of an era. I would take over his Koch/NEW/Simpelmovie/Kult accounts if I could. Hopefully to some degree I might be able to keep the spirit alive but I’ve had plans for a few years that have kept getting put off and am about fed up with being a seller myself. But I am seriously thinking about starting a modest spaghetti western store at my website, Tony offered to maybe help get me started. We’ll see. It certainly wouldn’t be very big and be mostly catalog stuff, I am not a DVD fanboy who plays the new releases shuffleboard dance every week. I have no idea what’s even scheduled & don’t care. I DO want to make sure that everybody who wants to see JOHNNY HAMLET gets a chance to score a copy & make Enzo proud.

But again seriously, if you wait more than another week to get that choice DVD from him that you’ve been putting off it will probably be gone. He’s done and that’s the way he wants it. Off into the sunset …

yeah unfortunate that he’s quitting… I hope somebody can fill the gap…

Just ordered $116 worth of DVDs from him … my wife is gonna kill me, I just ordered a bunch last month!

Ah well, it’s worth it.

cough 116? wow

More details please…

yes spill it out, gringo

Just like it sounds: I’ve been thinking about building a DVD store at my web domain and would certainly have a significant amount of spaghetti westerns; they sell. It’s just a brainstorm right now but if I can find the time & the means I might put something together. I’ve actually been reselling full time since 2003 on more public venues and am dog tired of it, something a bit more intimate and specialized might be welcome. At one point I was going to host an official Antonio Margheriti web store just selling movies by Margheriti that would have been affiliated with AntonioMargheriti.com which is run by Eduardo Margheriti, but the plans sort of fell through at the last minute. Tony at Xploited himself was advising me on how to go about planning the logistics but one thing after another came up and the idea was scrapped. But that’s the sort of scheme I have been considering, something specialized and focused, not a huge booming online warehouse but a specialists outlet, like CineCity or LFVW. Keep an eBay & Amazon presence to promote it and try to keep current on what might be new and worthy. Spaghetti Westerns, Euro Crime, maybe some Gothic Horrors, Peplum, maybe some weird stuff like the Three Supermen series, coldpressed retail releases when possible or “professionally” created DVD-R type product when justified. Just to give people a place to find them is the idea more than getting rich.

The problem I see now would be finding stock at an affordable rate, or more correctly coming up with enough up-front capital to get started with a couple thousand pieces of assorted titles. I’ve had a knack for recognizing titles that people have an interest in wanting to find and there is definitely going to be a vacuum created in North America at least once Tony calls it a day for good. I’ve got a good reliable domain host who can build me an eCommerce open source secure web cart (we started setting one up for the Margheriti project but it never went live and in fact is just sort of sitting there unused – heck I’m fairly sure it could easily be modified into whatever is needed). Trust me that if anything does come of it this would be one of the first places I’d come to spread the word, though I had kind of been planning to look for a gig teaching painting this fall. If I could do both at once that’d be swell, I just bought a Jeep back in June and need to pay for it & would rather do something like this than bag groceries for the extra ducats I’ll need to keep up. It’d also be nifty to have the only place on the internet with an Anthony Steffen wing where you could score whatever Anthony Steffen films happen to be available regardless of genre, or a Tony Anthony shop, a Franco Cleef room and a Wild East stockade or whatever else, and of course the Margheriti Mall. One stop shopping for your Italo-genre film fanatic, with everything from Mill Creek budget box sets of 50 peplum films for $20 to the latest Anolis Limited Edition premiums, some other oddities thrown in too. Sounds like a good idea at any rate, the only problem is figuring out how to come up with the stock and finding the energy to work it right. I’ll keep brainstorming.

@ Squonkamatic.

Sounds interesting as you have alot of ideas, and keep us informed like you say.

Hey Squonkamatic,

Keep us all updated regularly on your progress, should you choose to take the plunge. The genre needs more people like you!

If you are able to run an operation akin to Xploited that carries films of my interest
of European releases of SW,Giallo,Euro Crime & Film Noir I’d be spending around
$3500 per year if you’re able to secure them at Xpolited stytle prices & service.
I’m not looking forward to finding alternate sources to replace Xploited which may
mean German & Italian stores.I don’t like dealing with other than English understanding sources.
I’m making this statement as a sign of support if you’re able to pull something
together.I had no need to go outside Xploited as Tony ordered all the titles I was
after.A business that makes one stop shopping a pleasuer gets my 100% support.
All the best in your endeavor.

Reckon I will have to open a shop :D.

hey so do I, didnt know we had millionairs among us
