We are pretty easy going on most topics on the forum.
But Iām pretty sure it was also just a copy (image that is) of the already existing international discs (there was like at least 4, if not 5, already, one which even has English audio although it is missing the few bits that donāt exist with English). I appreciate getting the discs as proper DVDs instead of just DVDr stuff, but the fact is that most (if not all) of Wild Eastās stuff is available as fandub bootlegs (basically same quality as Franco Cleefs stuff) even months before WE gets their releases done. And the fandubs are, as far as image goes, probably better quality because they tend to keep them PAL if the source is PAL while WE re-encodes them into NTSC.
It kinda sucks that I buy releases like the Suevia disc of A Long Ride From Hell from Spain, then am able to get my hands on a fandub of it pretty soon after that (actually Iām not sure if I got one for this, but Iām sure there was one out there), then months later when it comes out I buy the WE release hoping for a better one (although it is kinda easy to figure out nowadays what their discs are going to look like ) only to get a copy of the Spanish disc with somewhat worse image quality and English dub added. And then it is even revealed that they didnāt have the rights for the release.
BUT, their releases do tend to have nice interviews etc. included which maybe even alone are worth it. And like I said I like proper DVDs. Oh and the covers are nice. And of course the collection must be complete. ;)
Well, copy or no copy, if theyāre legit (and Iāll give them the benefit of the doubt that they are - the covers are all copyright marked at least) then Iām happy. I couldnāt really have asked for more with āDonāt Turn the Other Cheekā. Somehow I felt my Corbucci āRevolution Trilogyā wasnāt complete without it, even though Tessari directed it!
I think it depends a lot on the person viewing the discs. I can nowadays notice compression issues much more easily than what I did years ago and they bother me more than used to. Seems to me like you can practice yourself to notice them better, and the same is true with other problems with the transfers.
If you have never really noticed, and havenāt tried to either, it with other discs, then maybe you wonāt notice in WE discs either (if they have any, though at least a few do). Same kind of problems do happen with bigger companies as well of course. If I remember right thereās one very nasty compression problem with the MGM Death Rides A Horse. Well⦠nasty and nasty⦠it lasts like a frame or two but I canāt forget it. ;)
Ok, thanks for that. I didnāt notice anything on MGMs āDeath Rides a Horseā so I should be ok :). However, now weāve discussed it Iāll probably be unable to avoid being on the look out for it ???
R.I.P. Spuff, may the sun never set on yah! Also the āWWLVCD?ā thread, pure genius.

All the best to you.
You are a very touchy fellow for sure! You seem to take offense to the tinyiest things. Might wanna grow some thicker skin if you wanna survive in the world of internet forums.

They were alright, he seemed like a normal guy but he just cracked it⦠I feel weird talking about him when heās right there⦠going a bit off topic here.
Actually hes normal only after the first post, which was telling us the wonderful story of how Ally or Eric gave him copy of boothill for free. Than me and Stanton made harmless joke and then he started acting like we raped his mom or something!
