What Is Your Favourite TV Series?

Inner Light is sort of a classic in ST universe, even won a Hugo award
there are some similar philosophical episodes here and there, not only in TNG series
check out Yesterday’s Enterprise, The Schizoid Man or Tapestry in TNG or Visitor and Far Beyond The Stars in DS9 (but there are plenty more worth a watch)
or even Robert Wise’s Star Trek The Motion Picture, which is something like 2001 of ST universe

yeah, sure i am  our member Ghost of Sartana is also a TOS fan i think

and while talking about ST webseries check out this trailer for the upcoming ST movie Renegades - it looks fantastic

The second season of the hit show VIKINGS starts tomorrow, can’t wait.

Walking Dead gets back on the ball with the last episode, pretty tense

I’ve been watching Jon Pertwee era Doctor Who TV serials lately (the serial episodes add up to feature-length so I guess it almost counts as a TV movie when watched all at once)…watched “Doctor Who and the Silurians”…I love campy 60s/70s sci-fi…the cheese level is off the scale…the monsters even have replica masks of the creature from the black lagoon LOL. My favourite doc is of course Tom Baker, though. He will always be THE doctor although I do like the Brigadier character from the Pertwee era…they should’ve done a few more episodes with him in it with Baker.

Finished watching the first season of Boardwalk Empire last night. It seemed to me to kick off well for the first couple of episodes, then it ran out of steam quickly through the middle, then, as I was about to abandon it as a busted flush, it picked up again in the last couple of episodes. Did just enough to warrant my seeking out the next season somewhere over the internetz to see how it pans out further, but not quite enough for me to run out and buy the next season blind (as I did with season one).

I simply can’t get enough of Richard Boone in HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL. Paladin is DUH MAN!

What’s the feedback on MAVERICK? I’ve recently watched a few episodes and they weren’t too bad.

My man too, this knight without armour in a savage land

Don’t remember a damn thing about Maverick other than the image of James Garner. It was on TV in Holland when I was a kid, but a probably was sent to bed when the show started.

The wife and I have been enjoying the second season of Hell on Wheels during its run on ITV4 here. Some nice twisted characters in this of which the Swede is probably the stand out. Season one got better as it went along and this season seems to be holding itself together pretty well.

Along with the above we have also got into Salamander, a Belgian crime/political intrigue series, which has been showing on BBC4. Well put together and a nice mix of intrigue and action. The actors are all new to me but they do a fine job. It is mainly in Flemish (with English subs for us of course) but I find it interesting that in some scenes people will have conversations in French and Flemish at the same time (one person speaks in French, the next answers him in Flemish etc) and also how often French words will drop into the Flemish speaking dialogue. I guess Sherps can tell me if that is standard practice in dual lingo Belgium.

If you enjoyed the second season of HELL ON WHEELS, you’ll definitely like the third.

Yes I like Hell on Wheels too as well as Game of Thrones.

But I think my favorite shows are The Universe and Through the Wormhole. I’m a science geek.

THE WALKING DEAD
BATES MOTEL
HELL ON WHEELS

Those are the only three current shows that I watch.

I also watch a lot of oater reruns on the Encore Western channel.

Presently watching S02Ep09 of Boardwalk Empire and I have to say it’s just a fucking ordeal, now. Every couple of episodes, the show will close out with a startling act of violence to keep people piqued but there’s not enough happening in between of any interest. I’d gladly abandon it here and now but unfortunately (for me) mrs.caress is really enjoying it, so I guess I’m lumbered with it until the bitter end. We’ve another (checks) 27 episodes before we’re caught up to speed and, boy, that feels a long way off. :’(

EDIT: OH! And bang on cue, some poor bugger’s just had a meat cleaver through the head. Ouch!

Anybody watching BATES MOTEL? What about that bombshell at the end of the last episode?

I was the only kid I knew who watched M Squad, with Lee Marvin as Chicago homicide-detective, Frank Ballinger. He narrated the episodes, which were loaded with ‘the city at night’ shots. But they didn’t project a claustrophobic-aura like the more-popular Naked City did. M-Squad was the anti Naked City. No philosophy or windy preaching. -Just Marvin driving-around smoking cigarettes and solving crimes with fundamental police-skills. I’m re-watching the series now. -Saw a great one today, with Marvin framing a safe-cracker who was blackmailing Angie Dickinson. No wonder their chemistry in Point Blank, 9-years-later, felt natural.

Game of Thrones season 4, the wait is almost over…yeah, baby!

Can’t wait. Can’t wait. Can’t f*cking WAIT! ;D

Yesterday, finished watching season three of The Walking Dead and watched episode 2 season 4 of Game of Thrones. TWD has been improving season on season; we’re cracking straight into season four tonight. Game of Thrones is off the scale. Don’t want to give anything away for those who haven’t seen it yet but as the credits rolled, I was very much like this:
