Last night, I finally started in on Boardwalk Empire. Only watched the first two episodes of season one, but it’s good so far. Easier to get into than I thought it would be. I love Steve Buscemi though. Brilliant in pretty-much everything I’ve ever seen him in.
Ok fella, that’s good to know…thx!
BTW, it sounds like the acid trip your on, has started to kick in…just stay out of the sun. ;D
So what did you think of it, Marvin?
Finished watching BATES MOTEL, really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the second season.
I’m not a fan of Carl (in the comics or on the show), so it left me disappointed. And, frankly, a bit bored. But I’ve come to expect that with it. I’ll still be back next week. I’m addicted to it!
Yeah, I enjoy watching the show and still look forward to the new episodes, but the show has been steadily getting less good over time
Just started watching the third season of The Walking Dead. Good is how unpredictable the fate of the main characters is. you can never be sure if one character will make the next 15 min.
But with 15 episodes I’m sure that it will be again stretched out for too long. But at the moment (episode 3.4) I’m sure I will watch it in quick succession.
This was great for a while, but it all became extremely predictable for me some time during season 3, I think. Gets to a point where the signs are obvious as to what’s happening next, who’s going to die and who’s doing what
It does do that.
I was really hyped for season 3 as I immensely enjoyed the comic where it depicted the Governor and the prison. I guess the hype killed it for me as I was dumbfounded by how awful I found it.
Season 4 has redeemed things, somewhat.
I just hope we get Negan in the near future, too!
I never read the comics, so haven’t had any issues with comparing the two
You’re better off. My wife has never read the comic, and she loves the show. Sometimes I wish I’d never read it, either. Oh well, huh? :-\
From what I’ve heard, the comics are probably the better work of the two
Well, not until now. And I’m normally pretty good in guessing what comes next in Hollywood films. And in SWs.
Of the 2 main characters dying in episode 4 (oops big spoiler … too late) one wasn’t a real surprise, still his death isn’t very dramatic and came as a surprise in the moment it happened. The other premature death was absolutely not expected by me. Not at this point of the story, actually not for that season.
I guess for me it just became fairly obvious that the writers were intentionally going for surprise moments in relation to deaths, so if you watch carefully you can usually pick out who is going next… they usually want to maximize the surprise/emotional charge so that character is usually focused on in some way, even if its kinda subtle, leading into the moment
have watched Star Trek New Voyages Phase II and Star Trek Continues - both shows are webseries continuing in a five year mission, which tv show with Shatner never finished
both shows look absolutely fantastic, especially episodes of the latter feel like real TOS
it is really miraculous how good can be webseries, made mostly by die hard fans, nowadays - fantastic stuff with great special effects (especially in later episodes of Phase II)
I totally enjoyed the 3rd season of Walking Dead. I watched it very, very quick, which is the best sign for quality.
Does anybody else enjoy BATES MOTEL? Really looking forward to the new season starting on March 3. I’ll pass on the AFTER HOURS show, though.
I never thought too much about Star Trek and its spin-offs, but after watching The Next Generation episode called the Inner Light(after being intrigued by the plot outline) I was really deeply moved. A true masterpiece and deeply philosophical stuff, an instant favorite. If they have more episodes like that maybe I shall get into the series. Any other fans of this episode here?
I’m not sure about that particular episode, as I’m not familiar enough with the series to know episode names, but I’ve really liked that series and DS9 for the same reasons
