I’ve been neglecting my Sword and Sorcery viewing recently, so I’ll be correcting that tonight with Thor the Conqueror also known as The Mighty Thor.
Torn between ‘Halloween 3: Season of the Witch’; and ‘Tales of Halloween’…
I’ll probably watch both…
One of the best horror movies ever. Really wish Halloween stuck with its plan to become an anthology series as the Micheal Myers sequels are utter crap
Saw Tom Atkins at a con recently - such a nice guy. He also sang some of the theme song during his Q&A.
People complained about no Michael, so they bring him back, and then the movies are still shit.
That, I would like to have attended…Tom Atkins is an icon.
Since it’s Christmas time, I’m finally watching A Pistol for Ringo. The Return of Ringo is the only film on the official top twenty I haven’t seen but I wanted to watch this one first.
*Hoping to watch ‘The Green Mile’.
Not sure if I will. The end scene always makes me melancholic…and brings something resembling a tear.
I don’t need that at the mo.
Will probably just watch snippets from ‘Fawlty Towers’.
I need some laughter, and nonsensical absurdity.
One of my all-time favourites. The dialogue, set design, music - it just oozes that awesome 70s film vibes that I just can’t get enough of.
Phenomenal movie. One Halloween probably twenty something years ago or more, I dressed as Alex. After attending a party, my “Droogs” and I hit a few bars and my costume drew one of two responses from literally everyone we met. It was either, “That is the coolest costume ever!” or “Who are you supposed to be?” It was immediately evident who was familiar with the works of Kubrick and who wasn’t.
Will hopefully be meeting Malcom McDowell next month at a convention.
Viddy well, little brother.
Brill! I hope it goes well for you, Dean, and that you do get to meet ‘The Man’.
Malcolm McDowell has always been one of my fav. actors - no-one else could have played Alex so perfectly…and as for Kubrick…Genius of the highest order…
Excellent choice Toscano. McDowell is one of my favorites too and I couldn’t agree more about him being the best choice for the character. Actually regretted watching the movie before I read the novel since he gave one of those performances where I couldn’t not imagine him while reading.
So jealous.
Indeed. He’s my second favourite director after Leone but I think he was the more intelligent of the two. Love Clockwork…but it’s my fifth favourite film of his. That’s just how high I rate his later films.
To commemorate the life of James Caan, a double-bill of ‘Rollerball’ (1975), followed by ‘Misery’ (1990).
We have my 3 year old Grand Daughter staying with us at the moment so I thought it important to stamp my authority on the TV and BluRay player. It’s important to establish right away who is in charge of these things to avoid upset later on.
So tonight we’re watching…
Oh well, I tried
At least it’s a classic and not some of the modern day drivel they are releasing for children these days.
Last Night in Soho! I throughly enjoyed it, Edgar Wright knew what he was going for here and it shows. That being said not sure if it is one I will find myself rewatching anytime soon…didn’t get that got to watch it again vibe.
