Johnny Oro is Mark Damon’s best SW film in my opinion, well better than Johnny Yuma. I like the way he plays the role and his look in it, less clean cut.
Hoping to watch **‘A Stranger in Town’, perhaps followed by ‘The Stranger Returns’.
I have a beer in the fridge, garlic bread, a pizza raring to go, and a bowl of green olives, crying out for Tony Anthony…
Now, that’s an idea. Let’s get Tony Anthony on the ‘Spaghetti Western Podcast’…
Re-watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last night with my mother. She liked it quite a bit.
Hoping to watch my favourite Bruce Lee film, ‘Fist of Fury’.
Such a shame that he never got to finish ‘Game of Death’…I think it would have been superlative.
I watched ‘Enter the Dragon’, the other night.
My goodness, what a star that Bruce was…
A legend gone before his time, he took great pride in everything he did, maybe a little too obsessively at times, but what a consummate craftsman and artist either way.
Another Bruce fan!! I am a big fan of WAY OF THE DRAGON. The fight between Bruce and Chuck Norris is the best in movie history. No wires or CGI. Just pure skill.
Apparently in FOF Bruce was able to complete the dojo fight scene in one take!!
Absolutely.
I have watched a lot of Bruce documentaries recently and biographical films. I watched THE SILENT FLUTE as another realised Bruce Lee script and other unmade Bruce Lee too.
We used to love the Bruce Lee films when we were kids he was awesome…I really like The Big Boss…it was quite violent if I recall. At the moment I’m watching Thou Shalt Not Kill on the latest Wild East DVD. I’ve never heard of the actor Steven Tedd before…
I haven’t heard of him either.
Who has !? … very strange that they put together a package of a relatively unknown actor, who made only a handful of films. 12 movies between '68 and '73
Phew glad I’m not the only one, that makes me feel a little less thick!! I’ll admit I’ve never heard of Brett Halsey who was on the Once Upon A Time in SW podcast a couple of weeks back …crap I feel thick again. Anyway it gives me an excuse to chase down some more westerns to watch…
I hadn’t heard of him until I watched TODAY WE KILL, TOMORROW WE DIE then a few days later he was on the podcast!
Don’t worry about it … It’s just stuff you pick up as you go along - plus Halsey usually went under a pseudonym of ‘Montgomery Ford’ … just to complicate matters.
THE MAN FROM RIO, French action movie.
Love that movie! On the Cohen Media release they mentioned it had a big influence on the Well of Souls scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I didn’t know you could get a decent release of it!! This is something I came across on youtube. I chatted to a pal who lives in France and he recommended it.
Oh yes, there’s seperate DVD and Blu Ray releases from Cohen Media Group in the US and there’s an upcoming Mediabook from Germany
I have the DVD because Cohen is a little pricey on their Blu Rays
Thanks M!
I am Eurospy/adventure obsessed at the moment. I want copies of Sergio Sollima’s S3S movies.
Man from Rio is great, if only for the amazing shots of the historical Brasilia during its time of construction
