Wonderful music. Incredibly thoughtful and insightful lyrics:
Last night I heard my mama singing a song
Ooh weep, scherpie, scherpie cheep cheep
Woke up this morning and my mama was gone
Ooh weep, scherpie, scherpie cheep cheep
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful
And Sally Carr too …
(Don’t) close your eyes, and drift away …
MIDDLE OF THE ROAD 1970s Million Selling European POP Group lead by Sally Carr
They had a string of very catchy, melodious, million selling Hit singles :
CHIRPY CHIRPY CHEEP CHEEP 1971 Number 1 For 6 Weeks In UK
TWEEDLE DEE TWEEDLE DUM 1971 Number 2 Uk Charts
SOLEY SOLEY 1972 Number 5 UK Charts
SACRAMENTO 1972 Number 23 UK Charts
SAMSON AND DELILAH 1972 Number 25 Uk Charts
YELLOW BOOMERANG 1973 Number 6 German Charts
Many hits were written by LALLY STOTT and millions sang along to these beautiful
catchy, classic tunes which are in direct contrast to the loud/sick drug sounds that
polluted the charts at the same time corrupting the young and leading to crimes etc.
Give me MIDDLE OF THE ROAD any day and every day and dump the loud bangers
At the moment, Return of Ringo sung by Maurizio Graf…think i could listen to that one all day. Closely followed by “Find A Man” from Johnny Hamlet (also sung by Graf), and “Seven Men” by Raoul from Seven Winchesters For A Massacre.
BTW, does anyone out there know anything about Maurizio Graf? Perhaps a full list of western songs done by him. Or did he do anything else and is it available? I can’t seem to find out anything about him at all.

Some good tunes there, but no info on Maurizio Graf.
Ah well, i’m sure someone out there must know something.
Oh, and at the moment, i’m listening to the 3 cd Best Of Jackie!!! It was a xmas present, i swear. Actually it has some pretty good stuff on it, although it also has some really horrible stuff too. One interesting thing, there’s a track on it called “Sky High” by a band called Jigsaw, and i recognised it as the theme song from an old HK film set in Australia called The Man From Hong Kong, which i still have on vhs somewhere…
Don’t know what i’m going to do with the free double sided poster of David Cassidy and Donny Osmond though…

A whole bunch of classic western soundtrack stuff for a little blue-screen test I did this week(a guy with ‘cowboy-cloathing’ shooting some cans filmed in studio, background shot outside).

Jackie!! Blimey, that takes me back. I wasn’t a reader myself of course (wrong gender) but all the girls at school got it every week.
I daresay there is a bit of Marc Bolan and Bay City Rollers on there too?

LOL…well i never read Jackie either (or any girls mags for that matter), and i am actually a little young for most of the stuff on the cd’s. And yes, Bolan and the Bay City Rollers are featured, though only with one track each, and in the case of Bolan, not one of his best ???
C’mon Brother Phil, own up - Jackie was ‘pop-tastically’ brilliant … and you know it! ;D
GET ON YOUR KNEES AND PAY HOMAGE TO
David Cassidy and DONNY OSMOND
SD - joking about shagging choir boys is one thing, but I will NOT be getting on my knees and ‘paying homage’ to these two, I assure you!!
Listening to my BLOCKBUSTER Sounds of the Seventies cd to get into the spirit of things.
It’s got me thinking now…Who else might be on this treaure trove of 70s pop?
I would have said Gary Glitter but he is probably persona non grata now.
How about these?
The Sweet
Alvin Stardust
Slade
The Rubettes
Mud
The Osmonds (of course)
Presumably ABBA get a mention

How am I doing?
All of the above, except for Abba i think. Yes, even Leif Garrett’s opus, “I Was Made For dancing” is on there. I hate to admit it but i have a sneaky liking for that track…one of my older cousins had a real thing about him and when she came to babysit she used to bring her singles with her, so i guess it just got stuck in my memory…

Flintlock
The Glitter Band (without GG … ok then!)
Suzi Quatro
and my favourite - one hit wonders - Slik (Midge Ure) … with the faboulous ‘Forever and Ever’
;D 8) ???
