What Are You Listening to at the Moment?
What about:
David Essex
David Soul
Flintlock
The Glitter Band (without GG … ok then!)
Suzi Quatro
and my favourite - one hit wonders - Slik (Midge Ure) … with the faboulous ‘Forever and Ever’
;D 8) ???
Yes, with the exception of Flintlock and the Glitter Band (probably tarred by association…). Hang on, wasn’t one of Flintlock in The Tomorrow People? ???

Hey…my cousin still has that Slik LP! :o

Willing to bet you are on the money with all of those Rev. Although Flintlock might be marginal. Weren’t they the kids band who used to be on “You Must Be Joking”?

How about:
Showaddy Waddy
Racey
Kenny
The New Seekers

Maybe even Bowie?

I’m getting confused now! Think they are all there except Bowie. Kenny did The Bump didn’t they? I’m sure they are on it…

Yes, I think that was Kenny. Their line up included cheeky chappie Keith Chegwin at some point I believe.

That’s the one. Mike someone or other. He was the drummer. And they were all in “You Must be Joking” which was also where Pauline Quirke started out as I recall.

Well my BLOCKBUSTER cd has got slik ;D - how good is that!!?
Plus … sweet/slade/t.rex/glitter band/rubettes/bowie/jigsaw/b.c.r./etc

Five Dolls For An August Moon soundtrack by Piero Umiliani, and is pretty good!

Well, I guess any soundtrack is better than Una Paloma Blanca by my fellow-countryman George Baker, but still I wonder what’s going on overthere in Manchester. Do you collect soundtracks the way other people collect stamps, match boxes or beer mats, simply because they’re stamps, match boxes or beer mats, or is this preference due to a particular UK soundtrack-gene still undiscovered here on the continent?
Yes, I think that was Kenny. Their line up included cheeky chappie Keith Chegwin at some point I believe.

Just remembered. Mike Holloway. Actually, Tomorrow People used to scare me for some reason. :-[

Could be :stuck_out_tongue: Strangely, i recently saw an old film featuring leif Garrett as 12 year old, cross dressing psycho :o No wonder that guy ended up with problems…

And back onto topic, i’ve left the 70’s behind for now, and am currently revisiting Type O Negative (particularly the “October Rust” cd).

Nice band and a very good cd [their best along with ‘bloody kisses’ i think]. They’re also great live

Yes, Bloody Kisses has some fantastic tracks on it. And as you say, a good live band. I saw them a couple of times at Rock City in Nottingham, although it was around 10 years ago!

GEORGE BAKER SELECTION DUTCH Supergroup Multi Million Selling 1970s 1980s

Entered the UK charts and reached number 10 with the Classic

UNA PALOMA BLANCA 1975

Other marvellous million sellers : Morning Sky, Beautiful Rose , Open Up Your Heart

HANS BOUWENS was the chief songwriter and lead singer on the multi million Hits

Scherp get on your knees and repent to GOD  as your DUTCH POP superstars I am
praising, describing and playing all the CDS.

GEORGE BAKER SELECTION FOREVER :  :o

I have collected soundtracks since the age of 14, and like many composers from Morricone to Goldsmith.
Many different styles and type of music are encompassed in soundtrack music, and that is the main appeal to me.

SHADOWS Greatest Hits 1959-1980

Probably the greatest Instrumental group the SHADOWS led by guitar genius
HANK MARVIN and also Jet Harris and Tony Meehan who had separate hits too.
Among the greatest Million Selling HITS I love are:

FRIGHTENED CITY 1961 Number 3 UK
KON TIKI 1961 Number 1 UK
WONDERFUL LAND 1962 Number 1 UK
GUITAR TANGO 1962 Number 4 UK
DANCE ON 1962 Number 1 UK
FOOT TAPPER 1963 Number 1 UK
ATLANTIS 1963 Number 2 UK
RISE & FALL OF FLINGEL 64 Number 5 UK
LET ME BE THE ONE 1975 Number 12 UK

Absolutely magnificent, Masterful guitars, Melodic, timeless
Forget the drugged up electronic noise of Jimi Hendrix…HANK MARVIN is the man.

Blood On Satans Claw soundtrack by Marc Wilkinson.

Interesting, Ennioo.

Of course I know people who have a lot of soundtracks, but I had never heard of anybody really collecting them (the item here is soundtracks per se, not one composer in particular).

I was joking a bit about stamps, beer mats etc., still I’ve been in a bar in the South of France which had all its walls covered with beer mats instead of wallpaper. Beer mats all around you! I had a chat with the owner and he told me that he had been collecting beer mats for more than thirty years. Some of the rooms of his house were beer mat territory too (I had the courtesy not to ask what the wife thought about it)

So you started at the age of 14. I don’t think you’re as old as the man on the piccie on the left, but you must have collected a considerable number of them.
How many soundtracks do you own and if you had to stay the rest of your life in the middle of nowhere and not much else, which three soundtracks would you take with you?

I have about 700 soundtracks at the moment.

The three soundtracks I would take with me are:

Giù la testa…Morricone.

Kelly’s Heroes …Lalo Schifrin.

Diamonds…Roy Budd.

I would have music for most of my moods then.

Dam! Lalo Schifrin’s music is awsome! i love morricone’s music, in fact i listining now a track from morricone, its “Le vent Le cri” is from “Le professional” with jean paul belmondo.

Greetings.
