California Dreaming by Mamas and the Papas

On repeat, the lovely thing is so damn short!

A compilation cd i put together of Sw songs. On the whole i love most of the ones i hear
(apart from having a curious hatred of “Bunny”!).

Good Mamas and Papas tunes always a pleasure to hear.

Monday Monday, Dedicated to the one I love, Creeque Alley and the
best song FOR ME is their wonderful version in 1966 of

SPANISH HARLEM

as good as the original version in 1962 by JIMMY JUSTICE.

“original” or the best version I should say as I detest the Aretha Franklin awful “version”

What is your fav at the moment then ?

NICK MC KENZIE GREATEST HITS 1973-1982

DUTCH Romantic Balladeer NICK MCKENZIE is a European superstar most famous in
Germany/Holland/Belgium for a wonderful series of MILLION SELLING Mega Hits many of which were written /co-written for Nick Mckenzie by DUTCH ELVIS aka JACK JERSEY

JUANITA 1973
PLEASE LET ME COME ON BOARD 1974
ANSWER ME 1974
ITS OVER 1974
ANITA 1975
LANA 1975
TELL THE WORLD (I’m a lonely man) 1975
MARIA DOLORES 1976

Must have been listening to loud music too often/enough, since I’ve never heard of the guy, even though I’m half-Dutch.
I have some vague memories of a song called Juanita and do know, of course, Lana, but I don’t think it’s his verson that’s haunting me : Ohohooo Lana
 padompadompadom
 Laahahanaaa

I know Jack Jersey, though. The man had a few hits, one as Jack de Nijs (Waar blijft Maria), one as Jack Jersey (Rub it in) when I was about fourteen or fifteen years old. They weren’t bad. My friend bought the first one because he was in love with a girl called Maria. I fancied her sister, but - believe it or not - don’t remember her name !

was a prolific songwriter of 100s of ballads/melodies/romantic songs/classics.
Elvis Presley (I like and respect him 100%) , he never wrote any songs but had wonderful songwriters like Mark James/Pomus&Schuman/Barry Mann&Cynthia Weill etc.

Ti amo from umberto tozzi! I love the song even if it might be cheesy, I also like the cover from Howard Carpendale.
I guess Sartana Django will be happy with this choice, since you seem to be into “Schlager” stuff?
I normally only listen to it when the carnival season is around! but occasionally it is nice to hear it

SCHLAGER RULES THE WORLD and makes a billion hearts melt with love and joy

I like Howard Carpendale and was just listening to his “wem” and “will du frei” big hits.
“Ti amo” is okish but not one of my favourites from Carpendale.

REX GILDO ULLI MARTIN BATA ILLIC IVICA SERFEZI That is SCHLAGER forever

Correction : Never use the word “cheesy” the CORRECT word is MELODIOUS/CATCHY.
