Happy birthday! My dad is actually older than you, so youāre not ancient. Neither you nor my dad is
That Finland song was sweet, thanks for sharing it.

Interesting, I didnāt know that Joe Pesci also recorded music. I like the backing bandās rendition of this Beatles classic, pretty cool bassline, not so sure about Pesciās voice though. Paul did it better of course ā¦
Cool trivia: Joe was friends with The Four Seasons and is featured in that musical Jersey Boys. (I never saw it). Their famous songs: Big Girls Donāt Cry, Sherry, December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night), Canāt Take My Eyes Off You etc
I never knew āBaby Yodaā could sing either.
EDIT: On second thoughts upon listening to that - heās tone deaf
Not so much listening, as watching and listeningā¦
Iām the big 60 tomorrow, so watching some āfunā Youtube clips tonight before going to bed.
Never seen āMean Girlsā, but it looks funā¦I love it when the the girls kicks the music player into the guyās gobā¦
The only downside to this clipā¦Bloody 'ell, I wish I was 20 againā¦
Only joking, 60 is a great age to start noting down your ailmentsā¦
For example: I didnāt feel myself this morningā¦for once, I had someone else to feel.
Carrying on with āYoutubeāā¦
(Above) Once again, āJingle Bell Rockā - this time supplied by the amazing Brian Setzer (Stray Cats).
I love this clip, especially when the superlative Brian Setzer introduces ātwo vixensāā¦harmless funā¦no woke, no PC, no put-downs, no bad intentionsā¦just free speech - does anyone else recall when that used to be the norm?
Beautiful times, when folk didnāt have to think about every word before they spoke it, for fear of offending the man in the moonā¦
If you remember āStray Catsā, then you are talking my language, and probably loved the music on āTop of the Popsā in 1981.
If you havenāt yet discovered this amazing band, then please give it a goā¦
Note: āJingle Bell Rockā was originally sung by Bobby Helms, and featured in the opening titles to āLethal Weaponā (1987), starring Mel Gibson. This was a time when people were intelligent enough to make a distinction between the excellence of an actor, and his separate personal lifeā¦
(Below) Stray Cats againā¦at their prime in 1981.
Note: Brian Setzer (Stray Cats) played the role of Eddie Cochran in 1987ās āLa Bambaā - the biographical movie adaption of rock legend, Richie Valens.
One last song to bring me frtom 59 to 60. This is a cheerful rendition of the great Brenda Lee classic, and sung this time by 80ās British beauty, Kim Wilde (daughter of pop star, Marty Wilde), and UK comedian, Mel Smith.
At the time, Kim Wilde was every schoolboyās idea of a heavenly angelā¦
This really is magic, and was so popular in the UK at the timeā¦not sure about the USA, or whether it even had a release there? Perhaps LG (Brian) can help with that bit of infoā¦?
Anywayā¦as far as Iām concerned, thereās always time for a feel-good songā¦
Iāve still got the recordā¦
Anyway, amigos, thank you letting me indulge in past memoriesā¦
Been listening to a lot of Irish Rovers Christmas tunes this holiday season, their sound pumps up my Yuletide Spirit 10-fold. Also love listening to Allan Shermanās comedy rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas.
Oh yes ⦠and even earlier. My little-boy infatuation with Ms. Wilde began in 1981, when āKids in Americaā was released.
Happy birthday, Toscano!
As a small consolation: Kim Wilde turned sixty-three last month.
one of those songs that takes me back to when i was a little kid (the 80s new wave era)
Happy birthday!
I always loved the Stray Cats (saw them live 3 times) and The Brian Setzer Orchestra (2 times). No āTop of the Popsā here in the U.S. We had to rely on MTV back in the day when they actually played music videos.
Thank you, Brianā¦A friend has just treated me to a massive late morning English breakfast (brunch). Got a bottle of wine to enjoy this afternoon with a good filmā¦
No. 1 in the USA, after all these yearsā¦still rockinā, the amazing Brenda Lee. Good on you, girlā¦
Hopefully, Iāve just discovered the perfect song list for a heart transforming from broken to healed.
Now I live for others, and myself, rather than just one other person.
Never put all your eggs in one basketā¦
The chances are they will all be smashed, and you will end up with the yolk being on youā¦
It wasnāt the cost of falling tears that got me down, it was the cost of umbrellasā¦Ta da!!
Anywayā¦
Toscanoās new āFour- Song Work-Outā - āRejection/ Abandonment/ Their loss/ Joyā, cominā right upā¦
This sounds insane, but it actually worksā¦
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
Step 4: Learning to not only survive, but also to care again, and have a laugh at the same time.
Step 5
Get out there and live every second and moment to the fullā¦Grasp every opportunity, so long as itās not the lady in the next aisleā¦
60 today, and loving every second.
The emojis speak for meā¦
Cheers!
Cheers Brianā¦God bless, and keep hitchinā your horse up at the railsā¦Hope you, family, and your four-legged steeds are OK?
I went to a āHard of Hearingā event today, and told a few jokesā¦Not one bloody laugh - I think it all fell on deaf ears.
I also told a joke about grave robbersā¦I donāt know where I dug that one up fromā¦
Yes, we are all well and healthyā¦the wife, Elsie the dog, and the horses who are currently enjoying the warm and toasty new shed weāve spent the last eight days building for them in preparation for the winter ahead.
Enjoy your day, my friend!
