Crikey SD, where do you get this stuff from?!?
No criticism of your taste intended (Everyone to their own as far as I’m concerned) I just wonder where you find it. I haven’t seen a Vince Hill record in the shops since before the railway came!!
Never mind Spaghetti Westerns. Vince Hill. Now that is real cult!

Phil baby I like your post very much  and will elucidate as follows:

  1. All CDs I post are from my PERSONAL COLLECTION that I listen to every day.
  2. As you know I am totally opposed/repelled by loud/noisy ā€œmusicā€/drugs/violent lyrics
  3. I love to relax & hear beautiful MELODIC CATCHY BIG HITS Uk/German/Dutch/Italy

VINCE HILL is a major UK Hit Vocalist , he started in about 1961, had many
hits and his greatest song

LOOK AROUND (And You’ll Find Me There) 1971 Number 12 Uk was from LOVE STORY

You can easily still buy Vince Hill greatest hits in major record stores HMV, Virgin etc
What you need to DO Phil is when you enter the record shop head for the
INTELLIGENT/DISCERNING section aka EASY LISTENING… or CLASSIC 60s/70s… :o
Leave the ā€œheavierā€ sections for the yobs, hoodies and headbangers…

Are you sure that spelling is correct?
ONLY JOKING SD! ;D

Fuck me … I’m a hoodie yob headbanger … must be 'cos it’s AC/DC, defaulting back to ā€˜Heatseeker’ every second play.
… And the odd hymn of course

Well, as you know SD my taste is best described as eclectic. Equal place in the CD collection taken up by Jazz, Blues, 70’s Rock, Motown, Frank Sinatra, Reggae and Punk. (No Vince Hill I’m afraid but Doris day features strongly)

Most recently though I’ve been re listening to a couple of albums by Magazine. An excellent band from the late 70s led by Howard De Voto who I know you would hate.

My new Onkyo stereo reveiver arrived, along with the new Mission boxes.
I selected them specially for their audio qualities, this was the best combination.

I’ve been working all day to intall them (and re-arrange the rest of my video/audio-room; I also bought a new DVD-recorder with High Defenition possibilities - still working on it), and now it’s …

Led Zeppelin … loud and clear …

Later this night: Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Beethoven for sure … (I’m eclectic too)

ā€œHello hello…is that the Belgium/Netherlands National Noisy Parties Patrol ?ā€
ā€œYes hi …I’m just calling to complain about my next door neighbour a Mr. Scherpshooter
he’s got giant boom blast speakers, plays loud head bangers like Led Zipper/Pink Flies
and my whole house is shaking, windows vibrating and my wife…she’s lost the babyā€ :o

Belgium/Netherlands Noisy Parties Patrol :
" Right sir we are on the way to Scherpshooter’s address and will NEUTRALIZE him" :o

That is a wide ranging mix Phil Doris Day/ Frank Sinatra/Reggae/Motown…to ehm Punk :’(
Whatever works for you Phil is fine by me, as I said my choices are those as described
and nothing is written in stone  I like Frank Sinatra with " Something Stupid" 67 Number 1 and ā€œStrangers on The nightā€ 66 Number 1. I hear motown/reggae on the
radio and many a catchy tune is played.

I would not hate any loud band as such its more a matter of ā€œavoidanceā€ but I
know it may appeal to others…so to each his own as they say…
Don’t tell anyone but I do listen to some T.REX and SWEET ā€œGet it onā€, ā€œLittle Willyā€ :o
Is that loud enough for you and Scherp ?

Ah Scherp you are a lovely fellow. I hope you were not a ā€œCelentanoā€ fan as I had a go
at him (appearance, singing, behaviour) ;D , on the other thread. Mamma mia Adriano :’(
But I am happy for you and I hope all goes well with your Onkyo Stereo system, Plus the
DVD Recorder and that both give you and your family many hours of ā€œpleasureā€ :o

I swear on the Holy Bible (which one ? ;)) that his name is VINCE HILL .

Rev I heard with joy that you loved SLIK with a big No 1 1976 ā€œFOREVER & EVERā€
Now I hear you are ā€œAC/DCā€ whether thats a sex-ual thing or an electric shock  or
some heavy heavy sweaty Aussies :-\ and you admit to being a ā€œYob, Hoodie, bangerā€
I am now as confused as O.J.SIMPSON about what he did or not over at Nicole’s home
(I hope that last joke was not in ā€œBad Tasteā€ ;)).

SD - just to show you that I too am eclectic and have ā€˜middle of the road/ easy listening’ tastes
I’m listening to an old record ā€˜Skin em up, chop em out, Rawhide’ done by my old crooner mate Nick the Frog (wailer and inhaler) and his bassmeister Moose (Atom Heart Mother). You’d love it - a cowboy reference and no drugs in sight! ;D
That airbrushed album cover looks pretty good as well … a talented artist I reckon ;).

Much as I may ā€œlikeā€ :o your Nick The frog I really would have to cast my vote for

FRANKIE LAINE RAWHIDE Number 6 Nov 1959 Uk Charts

But I certainly approve of your middle of the road, cowboys and no drugs policy Rev

Am I seeing double ???
Must be the cider :stuck_out_tongue: - I’m gonna try and find something that I like upon my shelves, and you approve of Brother SD. I could be gone a while!

Well I thought there wouldn’t be any ā€˜crossover’ in music tastes 'scepting spaghetti soundtracks, then I spotted my Neil Diamond collection … always been a bit of a fan of Hot August Night, but his new-ish 12 SONGS album is genius. Listening to the ā€˜Delirious Love’ track (with Brian ā€˜no-drugs-ever’ Wilson). Sublime 8)!
Does this meet with your approval SD?
