What Are You Listening to at the Moment?

For me it’s not so difficult to find something SD would approve …

Apart from favourites mentioned above, I like both Frankie Laine and Neil Diamond

I can appreciate Ol’ Blue Eyes too

And Middle of the Road of course (Scherpie, scherpie, cheep cheep !!)

But I’m very, very curious to know what SD thinks about my all time favourite …

BILLY FURY Greatest HITS 1959-1985

HALFWAY TO PARADISE 1961 IN SUMMER 1963 SOMEBODY ELSE’S GIRL 1963
I’D NEVER FIND ANOTHER YOU 1962 IN THOUGHTS OF YOU 1965

JIM REEVES Rip GREAT VOICE OF Country / Western Ballads Loved by Millions

HE’LL HAVE TO GO 1960 and ADIOS AMIGO 1962 Thats Pure Gold Works Of ART

If that Jim Reeves is really your all time favourite Scherp , then I like your choice 100%

All the other artists mentioned absolute heaven Neil Diamond, Middle Of The Road etc

Wowee Zowee from Pavement, the Sordid Sentinels 2 CD set.

I love these very special sluggish rhythms so typical for the band and for Stephen Malkmus’ songwriting and singing.

And there is this 1st line of Grounded : Doctor’s leaving for the holiday season …

I always thought that this line is THE perfect representation of the whole western civilization. Hehe

Wes Montgomery
Excellent Jazz guitar and very easy on the ear. I think even SD would approve.

Yes indeed I LOVE big Hit sounds that are easy on the ear
And ravishing GIRLS that are easy on the eye :o :-*

I should have mentioned that I like FRANK SINATRA More as a film star especially :

TONY ROME 1968 Frank Sinatra Jill St John
THE DETECTIVE 1968 Frank Sinatra Jacquelline Bisset
LADY IN CEMENT 1968 Frank Sinatra Raquel Welch

All 3 Classic, energetic, top Class Thrillers directed by GORDON DOUGLAS Super

It was my uncle who introduced me to Jim Reeves.
The same uncle who introduced me to westerns.

He owned at least five or six records of Big Jim and was a great fan of Big John.
I still like the Duke, but can’t say that I’m still a real fan.
But I’ll stay a fan of Jim’s untill I die.

Wonderful story and memories Scherp.
I also like Big John Wayne very much in selected Westerns/Thrillers like CHISUM 1970.
But I totally agree with you and millions of other fans all over the world:

JIM REEVES Rip Golden Voice of Timeless Classic Hits :

The combined soundtrack cd for 7 dollari sul rosso / Quella sporca storia nel West composed by Francesco De Masi … This is goooood stuff.

Giora Feidman

To someone who is trying to start his car :D.

Agreed. I watched Sporca Storia recently and de Masi’s score on that was excellent. With great theme song sung by Maurizio Graf too.

Maurizio Graf has sung many pleasing /quality songs on SW Film Soundtracks

From that double score I went for these soundtracks:

Una nuvola di polvere… un grido di morte… arriva Sartana - Bruno Nicolai
C’era una volta il West - Morricone
Sugar Colt - Bacalov
Che c’entriamo noi con la rivoluzione? - Morricone
and now hearing L’oro dei bravados by Bacalov.

Summertime Killer soundtrack by Luis Bacalov today.

King Crimson : Vrooom . Only 30 min, maybe their best CD.

Then calming down with a bit Kruder & Dorfmeister

I like “Red” best out of King Crimson albums.

The Italian Job Soundtrack by Mr. Quincy Jones, with a main vocal by the great Matt Munro :).

MATT MONRO The English Sinatra

ON DAYS LIKE THESE (Questi Giorni Quando Viene Il Bel Sole) 1969 (Italian Job)

AND YOU SMILED (Eye Level ) 1973

I like those 2 songs very much

Morricone’s expanded score for Giù la testa
