as long as it is just clips, i think it is no problem, we are just informing people and basically advertising the movies
oh oh samuryan: look at
Under the name of IF YOU MEET SARTANA–PRAY FOR YOUR DEATH (30 points) and under the name of SARTANA (with 2 points)
two of the same name, we have to look at confusing titles, there might be some mistakes with all the sartana stuff
One of the biggest headaches of figuring out what points to award to the films was all the different titles. The Spaghetti Western Database boasts a pretty impressive international community, and with all the different international titles, things can get a little tricky. I mean, when someone says, “The Magnificent Rogues,” the first thing that pops into my head sure as hell isn’t “The Good, the Bad & the Ugly” (the original UK title).
As far as the Sartana titles went (and the Django’s, for that matter), I could only go with what readers wrote (not necessarily what they meant). If they put in “Sartana” without the “If You Meet” or “Pray For Your Death,” I gave the points to Alberto Cardone’s 1967 flick, “Mille dollari sul nero,” called “Sartana” in various international markets and in Germany, where it was co-produced (and where a lot of the users here are from). After much deliberation, I finally decided to just call a rose a rose.
Despite the fact, that you may have meant a tulip.
As always, I am at your service, and will make any changes you want me to.
Or, if you’re reading this now and typed “Sartana,” but meant “If You Meet Sartana, Pray For Your Death” (Se incontri Sartana prega per la tua morte) please let me know. 2 points may seem a bit trivial, but in this case, it’s the difference between being in or out of the top 20!
And for all you Italians in here, please forgive us for molesting your lovely language. :-[
well actually the best thing to do is ask the people who wrote the list what film exactly they meant. this sounds like a whole lot of trouble, but we are not in a hurry but we like to know what movie rocks and which one doesnt, right?
great job man
Excellent job fellers!
thankee dude, doing our best. special thanks to Samuryan for all the trouble, he da man!
I hope we get more lists soon so as to make the list more representative, would be cool if Everybody had a list here. I am thinking of splitting this topic apart to have all the lists in a seperate topic
Thanks for all the number crunching work Samuryan. I agree that those who called the film Sartana should confirm what they meant. It is confusing. I have 2 copies of the first Sartana film. One called Sartana, the other is If You Meet etc… This is a common problem with many SW’s, especialy if Django or Sartana figure in the titles!
Do I detect a hint of bias in favour of OUATITW ???
damn right!
Hey guys (and gals?),
I just updated the list on the Top 20 page. Sorry about that red Shanghai Joe. I’m not sure why it defaulted to that color. Can somebody be a sport and change it to match the rest of the runner’s up? Please.
Yer a daisy if you do.
(Oh, and congrats to Keoma for fighting it’s way back onto the list, and OUATITW for bumping into second!)
Done.
outatitw is my personal favorite movie of all times, no wonder i cheer everytime it moves up a few points!
