Vengeance / Joko, invoca Dio … e muori (Antonio Margheriti, 1968)

That’s the one I have, doesn’t look poor to me.

I have the uncut x-rated (well a copy of it) and I don’t remember anything negative about it.

That’s the one I have too and it is pretty good but out of print these days I believe. Glad I got it when I did.

No complaints with the uncut X Rated one.

Here are two screenshots from the French disc:

It runs 1:34:45 (94m45s), just like the German Simpel Movie; this means that, compared to the uncut Image Entertainment (running 100m13s) a couple of shorter dialogue scenes are missing (See: Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Vengeance AKA Joko Invoca Dio... E Muori AKA Roko's Revenge (1968) ). Looks like there’s no violent action missing, so the ‘cuts’ weren’t made for that reason.

The French disc has good image qualiy, but colours have faded, in some scenes quite considerably (look at the second screenshot).
There’s only French audio

Thanks for the screenshots, scherp!
Unfortunately I don’t understand a single french word, so I’ll have to pick another DVD.

Does anybody know anything about the running time of the Italian disc?
film.tv.it says 81 Minutes, ibs.ithttp://www.film.tv.it/homevideo.php/519601/joko-invoca-dio-e-muori/ says 99 minutes… I’m confused…

I haven’t got the Italian disc, but on an Italian forum it says:

 • The cover says 81 minutes, but the DVD actually has a running time of approximately 94 minutes and 30 seconds (seems the version of the French/Simpel Movie disc)

 • The format is correct, 2,35:1, but the image has not been restaured; it’s quite grainy and colors have faded

Thanks again!

Here are some screenshots from the good (but cut) X-Rated disc:

Here’s a couple of the Image Entertainment disc. for (Harrison) comparison …

Interested in some portuguese reading?! Here’s a review on this mofo:

Laredo is Lucio De Santis (uncredited whipping bandit in Django and also third brother Santamaria in Margheriti’s E Dio disse a Caino), and not Ignazio Spalla/Pedro Sanchez as reported in the database.

i expect it to see in a few days…
