Vendetta at Dawn / Quel maledetto giorno della resa dei conti (Sergio Garrone, 1971)

El Topo sums up this one quite nicely. Another one that takes its time to get going but is never boring. Bruno is one nasty SOB!

Cast notes:
Like Topo noted, Constanza Spada is better known as Laura Troschel
I believe Manfred Freyberger is an alias for Jean Louis (who is very good as the miner with an out of contol crew)

The two outlaws with Nello who keep being in the wrong place at the wrong time:
Bernard Farber: Joe Piero Nistri: Ralph

I believe Manfred Freyberger is an alias for Jean Louis (who is very good as the miner with an out of contol crew)

Jonathan has kindly pointed out that Freyberger appeared in other genres, polizia etc.

He bears a resemblance to the ranch hand, Sam who buries the family.

Yes, judging by this pic I think it’s him.

The bad guys in this are real nasty I thought. They look the part, and are very grubby looking. In fact alot of the characters are a bit on the rough set kind of look. George Eastman looks smart when on doctor mode in the first half of the film, and interesting watching him change. Well he did warn his brother there was going to be trouble. Was not expecting what would happen to Eastman’s brother, with him being a Spaghetti star. When reading through this thread this film of course divides people, but thats the way it goes sometimes of course. Well I thought this was a gritty slice of Spaghetti, and apart from some of the music tracks that would have been more suited to a gothic horror film, I enjoyed the ride. Better than expected which is always nice.

Manfred Freyberger in White Fang to the Rescue (1974)

First poster was wrong IMO, this is a very good spaghetti western. Some great actors in it and has a very gritty feel, and good music. First half was much better than second half but still a strong film.

I liked the way is showed why the prospectors-cum-bandits actually resorted to banditry and murder, really out of poverty and starvation more than anything else. I havnt seen any other westerns which show why bandits are bandits.

Mexicans get no respect in this town as these two are treated with contempt.
@JonathanCorbett, look who’s together with Sandro :slight_smile:

Great!

On Spencer/Hill Datenbank the names are inverted. So this is Sergio in no beard version, maybe from E venne il giorno dei limoni neri?

Strange regarding the inverting :astonished: . Looks like the pics are supposed to be from Spencer’s Piedone lo sbirro. I might have that somewhere.

This very short scene makes a nice companion piece to the above pic. They are riding in the back of Bud’s car and crawl out when he wrecks it. They help beat up the guy they are chasing but are pretty much unidentifiable after leaving the car.
