Top 20 Spaghetti Western Songs

Very nice, Corbett! Haha, now I kind of think there should be a top 20 themes list, as in with lyrics. Could this be considered?

Other songs that I like:
ā€œTrinityā€ sung by Annibale

ā€œThey Called Him Djangoā€ sung by John Balfour

ā€œHey Amigo, Your Deadā€ sung by Don Powell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ktBv4UAzdg

ā€œThe Wind in My Faceā€ sung by Stephen Boyd

ā€œThe Price of Goldā€ sung by Roberto Matano

This one should be in the top 20 too. ;D

For me, after the Morricone-for-Leone works, it begins and ends with Egisto Macchi’s theme for Bandidos, and indeed, the entire score for this film. It’s a shame this was his only western:

Just finished re-watching -The Moment to Kill - and now I can’t get the song out of my head. It definitely moves up a couple of notches on my top 10 for sure.

Thank goodness somebody else agree’s with me! In all honesty I love Morricone, and his music is ingenious and wonderfully original, but ā€œYou’d Better Smileā€ is such an incredibly catchy and well crafted piece of music that I couldn’t place it any lower. It manages to be transcend being just a good ā€œSpaghettiā€ song and becomes something that could also be played on the radio (I don’t understand why it didn’t actually hit any of the charts).

Most of the songs in Spags are cheesy and terrible. One point where Spags really suck.
Funnily I think while in 50s westerns after High Noon songs for the credit sequences became popular, in the time the Spags copied that, you hardly find those in US westerns.

Strange, I find them cheesy and terrific. Another point where spaghetti westerns really excel. Italian movies in general up through the 70s, 80s really. You got to love the genre I guess

I’m with you AvatarDK. Cheesy and terrific sums them up perfectly for me. I will happily listen to a compilation of those songs all afternoon and often do.
