Pope-in ain’t easy!

BUAHAHA! ;D

The Pope, in a recent, highly publicised interview, has said, amongst other things, that his favourite film is Federico Fellini’s La Strada… another blow for Fellini’s reputation - only an admission of respect from the Pope towards La Dolce Vita could have been worse.

No wonder… the film has been praised by Vatican for its artistic value for many years. Here:

I’ve seen eight out of that Vatican list.

I’ve seen 21 films from this list.

I’ve seen most from the art section, maybe half from values but only few from religion.

I remember the Pope saying that he didn’t think Avatar was anything special.

I tend to agree with the Pope on this one.

Surprised to see Fantasia & 2001 on that list

Actually, there are some great films on that list… including Fantasia, which I have an inordinate fondness for.

Not debating the greatness of Fantasia, just that a Catholic/Christian org. would embrace it

I agree with everyone who says Avatar is nothing special.

The films on the Art list, and these are all good films, are nearly as old as the church is.

And Avatar is at least much better than such film catastrophes like Ben Hur and Ghandi.

There are 3 films on the religion list which (not surprisingly) I have not seen, nor ever heard of them.

The Burmese Harp is the one on the Value list which I never got a chance to watch, and Fantasia is the arty one which I missed. Not sure about Little Woman.

Still have not watched Avatar

You haven’t missed anything big, believe me. Just a pedestrian CGI fable.
