Just watched Fort Yuma Gold.
On a bit of a Giuliano Gemma kick at the moment.
Not his best but it was fun all the same. Maybe a few too many fist fights for my liking.
At least there was a part for my man, Lorenzo Robledo, and he didn’t get tortured or killed!! That could be a first!

I was going to watch a new one and then I saw it in the collection and just couldn’t help myself.

Watched ‘McLintock’ with my daughters.
Not my favourite Wayne film by a long chalk but it does have 3 main female characters which is an important element in my campaign to brainwash my daughters into liking westerns. Maureen O’Hara, Yvonne De Carlo and Stephanie Powers all playing feisty females went down a treat with the girls despite the ‘Taming of the Shrew’ nature of the storyline. My 9 year old insisted this was the best western she had ever seen. I’ll obviously have to do more work on her taste but at least they are warming to the genre in general.
Slowly but surely I’m winning them over.

It was interesting to watch western made in Sweden, even if it was cheaply made and rather dull one.

Btw, where did you find it?

It used to be hard to get hold of a copy of that film.

“Utvandrarna” and “Nybyggarna” on the other hand are quite good Swedish Eurowestern-dramas.

I’ve got avi to dvd english subtitled vhs rip version. I’ve downloaded it some time ago, converted it to dvd after removing some rubbish lines from the subs [“goddamn hippies” and few more like that] and finally yesterday i decided to give it a go.

Watched ‘Arizona Colt returns’ last night ! Nice movie, doesn’t knock you outta your boots but good and solid average material !!! The German dub. uses pretty rough language but is quite alright (no cheesy Brandt stuff) !!! English subs. are ok !!! A real curiosity is Bruno Nicolai’s score, the main theme goes something like this:

"I guess I gotta get my gun / I guess I’m gonna shoot someone / bang, bang, hey whoopie yuupie jey, bing, bang, bong 
 "

Hillarious, Nicolai must have been on drugs or something :smiley: !!!

Anyone else seen the movie yet ???

Oh, by the way: The interviews are very interesting, especially the Dan van Husen one. Quite funny is his remark about ‘Potato Fritz’ Hardy KrĂŒger ;D (easter-egg) !!!

Beautiful title, but would you please translate it.

Död seems to me ‘dead’ or ‘death’, and SpĂ€r means, I would say, ‘track’.
So my guess for the full title is ‘In a dead man’s track’, but I suppose I’m wrong, as usual.
Those Scandinavian languages sound so familiar and yet are so tricky.
But maybe you say the same thing about Dutch.

Yeah, good movie. Fun supporting role for Lee Van Cleef. The followup Hour of the Gun is pretty good as well.

In the last couple of days i watched ;

Duello Nel Texas
Uno Dopo L’Altro
Vivi O Preferibilimente Morti

and half of And Now Make Peace With God.

Didn’t think i’d like Duello Nel Texas that much but it was pretty enjoyable. Love that title song, though the one on the film was very different to the version i have for some reason. Uno Dopo L’Altro was one i had wanted to see for a long time now, and i really did enjoy that one. Never dull, with quite a few twists, and surprisingly violent. As for Vivi O Preferibilimente Morti, well, i was a little worried (especially with the opening scene) as these comedy westerns can be hit and miss at best, or just downright terrible (Roy Colt and Winchester Jack springs to mind!), but again i was pleasantly surprised. Haven’t made a decision on And Now Make Peace With God as i need to start again with it i think. Just too many distractions the last time i was watching it. Was digging the soundtrack though :wink:

I was not to keen on Duello Nel Texas, but looking forward to watching Uno Dopo L’Altro.
